RVH Lifestyles is a new and used truck dealer building custom semi-trucks for the recreational market. We specialize in all aspects of customization of these trucks - from beds, to interior, to accessorization of your interior and exterior. We offer two production body styles, plus custom bodies. In this video we show one style of production body - the sports utility body for tandem axle trucks. In most cases it makes sense to single the truck (remove one rear axle) for recreational use. But some people prefer the look of the tandem truck, or they need to carry a lot of weight. We do bodies either way.

Thats a perfect setup for what i want to do to make a daily driver out of a daycab tandem axle tractor . How long would that take ?

I can’t see many reasons why you’d need a tandem for these haulers imho. Single is rated for 20k and has better turning radius. Sweet truck either way!

There is a large Cost$ factor to single. Both axels are removed and separated then the rear one is reinstalled in a new location and a driveline has to be custom built.

Is there a way to move the hitch farther forward directly over the rear axle or between the two axles? Or does it matter?

It's not necessary because the pin weight of an Rv is not enough to worry about. It would only be required if you were towing something like a Spacecraft Rv. And in that case you would still be using the commercial hitch since those are built on full size semi trailer frames.

Who knows why they call them "Chicken Lights"?

Because years ago mostly owner operators with Pete's and K W s pulling livestock trls full of chickens would decorate their rigs front to rear with lights . they were always in hurry and at night you could see them coming from a mile away and that's where the term chicken lights comes from. Eventually alot of drivers started putting lights down the sides of their trucks .
