EVERY fucking DAY I smoke a cigarette and drink a beer while listening to Birth of Liquid Plejades. It takes me to another world.

The "Zeit" album was my introduction to the Berlin school of electronic music, when I discovered it by accident in the public library in 1990 when I was 15. It continues to be my favourite album of all time. I am absolutely gutted about Edgar Froese's recent death.

I bought this in 1973, from Virgin Liverpool. Magnificent cover! Had Electronic meditation. Got home, put it on the turntable "my amp goes to eleven" Dad yelled in from the sitting room, "what the f**k is that your playing? I loved every minute of it and still have the album. Like ' Discreet Music' Brian Eno. I now play it barely audible. All four sides, Marvellous! R.I.P. Edgar. Never forget your performances at both Liverpool Cathedrals. Out of this world!!!!

Anyone who enjoys this (as I do) is heartily recommended to watch "Under The Skin", whose soundtrack seems strongly influenced.

I remember buying ZEIT for the first time on vinyl years ago and playing it for the first time and the awe it inspired. I thought to myself, if they ever play in America I have got to see them, because a band like this won't last very long. Boy was I wrong! THANK GOD I was wrong! They're still playing on stage just like the Stones. So many people dislike this particular album. To me, this is one of their very best.

Zeit is a freaking masterpiece, even if it's soundtrack music. It takes you out of the mental space of a normative music listening experience into something almost alien, yet still familiar to sentience.

I did not buy this album when it came out. However, I did leave my 2095 timeline to go back to 1972 so I could. So, technically, I guess I did buy it when it came out. This particular piece will have largely resurfaced by the 2090s, hence my purchasing of the album.

The intro section of the piece with the cello quartet reminds me a bit of Ligeti's "Atmospheres". (In fact, the whole album is rather reminiscent of the Hungarian composer's body of work.)

Is title mis-spelled? Is it PLEIADES? "The heartbeat of the Universe" video. Nice violin intro. 1970s had a thing with electronica. TD shames other such groups as Kraftwerk or Vangelis... I have LPs such as Phaedra, Atmosfear, Exit, force majeure, Sorcerer & Thief soundtracks. Subtly orchestrated head music, all perfect for film (use only segments there).
