Tank biathlon competitions continue at the Alabino training range near Moscow as part of the 8th International Army Games. In the individual race participate first crews from Venezuela, Vietnam, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan.

Wow. Of all crews only Vietnam knows it's drill. Left-foot first always. Apparently the others drill their enlisted men better, as all the drivers moved by the book on their introduction.

Russia borrows T-72s for other teams, except China which brings its own Type 96 tanks, which are comparable to T-72.

Traditionally, Belarus (on the T-72BME, the Belarusian version of the tank modernization) and China (on the TYPE-96B) perform on their equipment.

As far as I know the rule is that whatever thank you want to bring with you is considered good to go for the biathlon. If you don't bring a tank, Russia will provide a T-72 for the team. In fact, all nations are invited to participate, NATO countries included

Their skill in tanks has proven too low, it seems, and the skills seem to be in older tanks like reactivating war memorials. Impressive in itself but not part of the competition. Actually, reactivating old stock could be a future addition. They haul out some of the old soviet stockpiles and you have 30 minutes to get it running.

Ukrainians have always been invited to biathlon, but they always preferred to participate in NATO exercises rather than in tank biathlon. They did not accept the invitation of the Russian side. This year would not be an exception, even if there was no Russian military operation in Ukraine.
