They are from the Ruhrgebiet and it is an old mining area and working class, in the ealy days the lifes of the miners depends on each other, they were real bros. It is still in their culture. If you are raised there they would set you straight if you would be posh. And they have a lot of humor, I love it!

Can only speak about the past, but I first met them at a small festival a few years ago. We got to talk a bit and drank a few beers together, they are really nice and extremely fun to be around

Seconded. I've been going to their concerts since 2012, so obviously I've been to quite a lot (and very small ones in the beginning too on top of it). After a small gig in Düsseldorf or Dortmund(?), we ran into Kevin and had a very nice chat. He was so pleasantly talkative, kind, funny and genuine that time flew and after half an hour, we had to go "Sorry, we need to go home now ..." 😂 He remembered me though and when we would meet him after gigs, he would still know my name every single time. What you guys see of them in these vlogs? 100000% real. He was EXACTLY like that back then already. I have nothing but respect and love for these guys.

I can only agree with you. I was their double driver for the Hypa Hypa Tour in 2022, even took over the last two days as Solo-Driver. The Band and Crew were just normal human beings. Nerding out Backstage about Cardgames, jamming to music while driving and having a smoke, it was a blast. Everyone knew their shit, everyone DID their shit and it was just very well rounded all around. I have the Lanyard of the Tour proudly hanging on my PC-Desk to this day. And I was on Tour with Bands like Destruction, Exodus and Overkill. NOTHING beats Electric Callboy when it comes to human decency and absolute Respect. Nothing but Love and Positivity when it comes to my memories of it.

Electric Callboy was the most fun I’ve had at a concert ever! They were always showing appreciation and love to the fans throughout the show. It was so cute when they’d bring people’s kids on stage for the group photo. It’s awesome how respectful they are of their whole crew. The complete opposite of the douchey rockstar persona. So happy you had a great experience!

That whole "You don't have to do *everything* for us" thing you got from the band... I think part of that is a difference between a European vs. American attitude... I don't know. I moved from Scandinavia to the US 17 years ago. The band's behavior kinda sounded "normal" (but exceptionally nice) to me.

Nico is very straight forward. He told one fan that was in the front at the show in Santa Ana not to flip him off because that is not the way to tell him you love him. He said maybe a kiss would, but not the middle finger. LOL!!

These guys are from my town, a former mining community. Down in the mine, you used to value two things in a man: He had to work as hard as yourself so your team could meet its production target, and he had to have half an eye on his collegues always. One day your life would depend upon one of your collegues having your back. There was very little time for small talk. In short, miners grew up to be hard working and very direct teamplayers. The mines are closed now and the old miners slowly die out, but that mindset is still part of our culture to an extent.

I think the fact they started to be internationally successful in their 30s instead of their 20s might play a part in that, it's probably easier to stay down to earth with that extra level of maturity! But also they seem like genuinely real good people!

@@misscrackwood Well... not necessarily. Even in their mid 20's most of german youth won't excessively exeggerate themselves, because that is not meant to be in our educational approach. Our children are trained constantly to humble themselves knowing being a dick will get you nowhere in Germany. That is, why we don't have any Zuckerberg's, Musk's or even Trump's over here.

Oh, this gonna make me cry, I just know. I love the boys SO much! Every one of their vlogs shows how much they love and care for each other. They are so sweet, and kind, not at all afraid to show vulnerability, and confident enough in themselves and their sexuality to hug and kiss each other, without having to yell "Haha, no h*mo, though!" I'm so happy for you to have become part of this beautiful family. Everybody should have friends like this, and the world would be in a much better place. ❤😊

I can’t believe that this kind of behavior isn’t standard. I would never expect somebody who was my tour manager to ever do anything meaningless like carry my bags or clean up messes and shit like that it’s really nice to hear that there are other artists out there like me who believe in, including the crew, and treating them like family as opposed to treating them like they’re disposable. ❤

On the subject of moving to Germany - I think that would be a good choice. You would of course have to go Metric full out as it is set out in the DIN-standards (DIN = Deutsche Industrie Normen) but other than that it shouldn't be any problem. With regards to Ingrid and the School system in Germany I believe it has a very good standard. Depending on where in Germany you plant your roots you might even find an American School to enroll her in. Regardless of how it turns out - Moving or not, full time TM for EC or not - I wish you all the best for your future. Cheers / Mr_B_Dublin

Yeah a move to germany should be no Problem for someone like Tank. The German Education system is pretty decent (although on the decline a bit but i hope that will change in the next few years :P ). If they would offer you a fulltime Job the area around their "Homebase" is pretty nice to live in. You have Cities like Essen, Dortmund, Düsseldorf (where i live hehe) and plenty more to choose from that all have good Schools for your Kid, plenty of Job opportunities even if you dont work fulltime for the Boys and more :)

I flew out to Minneapolis to see this show. It was one of the most fun concerts I've ever been to in my life. After the show there were some people hanging out near the buses and I was talking to them about the concert and Nico and Kevin came over and talked to all of us for like 15+ minutes, took pictures and everything. They were so awesome. Sad I didn't get to talk to you, but you were in the zone trying to get everything loaded up and on the road after the show. I'm glad everything behind the scenes was as fun and wholesome as the bit I saw from the crowd and after the show!

Through people like you, it may become clear to many others that Germans may have a harsher language but are far from the stereotypical bad german. One certainly can't say they represent Germany as it is as a whole, but one can certainly say they represent the best in us.

Pure Gönnung! Ich muss hier doch noch was ergänzen: Tank, seit Du angefangen hast auf die Jungs zu reagieren hat man gemerkt, dass du einen besonderen Draht zu den Leuten aufbauen kannst. Ich schaue deine Videos sehr gerne, bin zwar eher ein stiller Zuschauer aber dennoch immer froh, wenn etwas neues von Dir kommt. Solltest Du jemals die Chance bekommen nach Deutschland zu ziehen - mach es! Wir sind vllt. nicht das tollste Land und ja, wir haben auch so unsere Probleme aber vieles wird doch sehr viel vereinfacht im Gegensatz zu den USA. Gerade du mit deiner Familie, hättet hier ganz andere Möglichkeiten und vorallem deine Tochter, würde Bildungstechnisch ganz andere Chancen haben - wenn nicht sogar überragende! Mich würde es auf alle Fälle sehr freuen, wenn Du diese Möglichkeit bekommst. Und wenn es soweit ist, häng ich persönlich deine Platten so schön an die Wand, wie du es aktuell auch hast 😁

Honestly Tank, that treatment you recieved in the past sounds awful. Maybe I am just too European, but I tought...hoped most of the bands, artist are like Electric Callboy, that do not treat their crew and everybody around them like slaves. It was so heartwarming to see your and the guys posts throughout the tour, I can see that this was a really moving experience for you - despite the difficulties, I hope they will go there sometime in the future - but also hoping for a concert near my area again, I saw them live in Budapest this spring - best concert of my life.

There is so much awesome about these guys. I'm 40 now, and this is actually pretty much the only metal band, that both me and my kids (17 and 16) really enjoy. We saw them live in Hamburg earlier this year, and it was a total blast, and maybe the best family trip ever 😅 So awesome to hear, that EC actually are as nice as they seem to be ❤

One of the things that initially drew me to this band was their huge air of positivity and joy in what they do. You don't see that enough in metal. It's great to hear that they walk their talk and are really sweet guys! So happy for you man, and thanks again for introducing me (and so many of us) to them in the first place! We dislike it and it's honestly sad, that we are praised so often for it. Teachers and money are the key parts missing nearly everywhere in our schools and that a building isn't up to some regulation isn't too uncommon, too. Our system needs an overhaul and good staff, which isn't chronicle overworked and on the edge to burnout.

1,000% agree!! BRRF Friday had 2 bands on my "must see" list...Electric Callboy and Lorna Shore. Neither disappointed! There with my daughter and bumped into an old friend waiting for EC to go on. He'd not heard them and I was like "you're gonna love this!" and he did. @tankthetech I'm pretty sure I caught a glimpse of you during setup & if so, it was clear you were in the zone and not too happy at that moment. Watched your video about the debacle from your perspective and totally understood. Wish I'd been able to meet you but know better than to try when someone's eyeball deep in work mode. Maybe next year at a show. Hope that sh!t experience didn't leave a bad taste for Virginia and it's people because it is not representative of either. ❤

I met them in person back in the day when they had released their first EP. Self-published. They sold their own merch. This was over a decade ago. Kevin and I did goofy stuff up until 5 AM until the club closed the doors. It is so great to see that you had this experience!

I went to the show in Philly and that was literally one of the best shows ive ever been to. Electric Callboy are just one of those humble and amazing nice bands that I love. I will forever be a fan after what I saw/experienced after that show. They really are the nicest guys

Seeing them in Sweden really left a huge impression on me, the love and crowd was really something speciall compared other bands I have seen. And this was even tho they where one man short. Love the band and love your channel. Keep up the great contet Tank!

honestly, I have NEVER heard anyone say a single bad word of that band. I saw them live at Copenhell, and they seemed like such a chill and awesome band.

I'm really not surprised that they're so nice. Just watching the videos of them reacting to reaction videos of their new songs, I always noticed that they always had something nice to say about the reactor and so much appreciation that people were reacting to their music.

Well I think one reason for them being such cool guys is that they've not forgotten where they came from. I had my rehearsal space next to theirs (they've moved a few weeks ago) and I've met some of them multiple times and they're really nice guys. They knew that all of us small bands know who they are but we didn't treat them differently and so they didn't aswell. Nothing ever like "oh common, get on our lvl" or smething, just some bros who love the same music and the same beer that happened to all of a sudden be popular 😄

Very Glad to hear the guys are as much of a pleasure to work with as is it is listening to their Music. Some bands make good Music and then are kinda assholish backstage (from my Experience as Venue/Stage security). Cant wait to be security for them during some of their upcoming gigs in germany next yeah hehe

All I can say is you looked like you were having such a blast being on stage with them and it couldn't have happened to a nicer guy. I'm so glad you have all the good memories to wash out the stank of Blue Ridge promoters from your brain. And even I want to say thank you to Electric Callboy for taking care of Tank and showing him what metal in Europe is all about.

I'm so glad to keep hearing good things about this band. With all the bands and musicians I used to love who leave a bad taste now that kinda ruins my enjoyment of them, I am so happy these guys seem to be as nice as I think they are. I so hope it stays that way.

It's so heartwarming to hear you all speak on how awesome and special this tour has been because it really felt like that for me and my bff as well. I said it a few times already but it's such a great feeling to know the band I fell in love with are genuinely great people. For the short time we spent with them and you, it really felt like we were just a bunch of friends talking about nothing and everything. I'm so happy this tour turned out to be such a meaningful moment in your career and in your personal life, and I can't wait to see you all again, hopefully soon! Ive worked IT for 7 years for evenko / Montreal and seen around 700 shows and events. But never ever expected to be this impressed by a show or band anymore, Electric Callboy made me love music in a totally different way and god Am I in love with the vibe they create in the last years, I needed that badly. I’ve had so much fun, it made me want to go back to The entertainment scene again just to meet with them and guys like you Tank. I love your video, keep it up, peace!

Oh yeah and btw: maybe there's some kind of a cultural difference somehow (don't know, just trying to find an explanation). I'm german myself and the head of ~15 people but I usually don't expect them to clean up after me or carry my stuff. Usually I tell them "it's very kind of you, but you're working here for a certain reason, not because you're my personal slave. We're on the same side: we want to get through the day as smooth as possible together."

I was at the Montreal show and Electric Callboy sounded amazing! I had an absolute blast! I typically do not dance, but I did not stop for these guys, it was so much fun! My friends and I hung out back, by the bus after the show in hopes of maybe getting a chance to say hey ....Nico was kind enough to come say Hey, despite being tired. He was very nice about it, seems like a very down to earth guy. I did yell "Tannkkkk" to you when you were headed in the bus at one point but it was clear you were very busy and it was late and dark (sketchy! lol). Glad the tour was a blast, you clearly did a great job for them and hopefully it turns into something bigger for you! 💀🤘

Ok who is cutting onions around me right now 👀 It’s so great to get the insight of how a band is behind the scenes when no cameras are rolling. And to hear that they’re genuine nice people who treat their staff fairly and even like family is amazing to hear. It shows that one picked the right band to be a fan of. I wish more artists were like this and it would be just normal and not special. Oh and if it wasn't clear You totaly rocked that segment! God damn I will never forget when I saw your videos the first time about Sabaton wich is one of my favorite bands and then you started these Videos about Electric Callboy and it evolved into such a great Bromance. I was at the show in Phoenix- that day’s heat was brutal, even for us who live here, then that night we had one of the worst extreme weather monsoon storms this season during the show. You all made it happen, and if there was any impact to the show, I don’t think any of us could tell 😂 that speaks volumes to the bands, every person on the team, and you. You definitely deserve the genuine appreciation from everyone - you built something special, now take a moment to feel proud of your hard work. 🖤
