I grinded this against Tigers and IS-s, when there was +3 mm. There was no premium ammo for credits, I had to rely on HE against harder opponents. That was the real pain, shot for 5-15 HP and then vaporized by a Russian 122 mm regularly...

That's not a stock AMX 40. It's got the late-model turret. Stock turret actually looks like a ball on top of the hull.

Frity I grinned all the way to ELC when 40 got tier 8 mm. And I only used AP ammunition.

Actually, you can push your WN8 like mad with the duck tank. Get a decent crew ( 2+ skills ), right module choice, use HEAT when in tier 5 matches and HE when in tier 6 matches and you have a statspadding-tank like no other. Even better for pushing your WN8 than ELC AMX :)
