So happy to see Parks on the list! Our family absolutely loves that game. And Tiny Towns has been a huge hit with everyone as well (especially with our 9-year-old).

Exceptional lists. I like that there are games on this list that I've not seen on any others. Beta Colony has been the sleeper success at our house.

This is the most fun top 10 list I've seen so far. Usually I'm doing something else while listening to top 10 lists. This one I was very entertained throughout! I think I'm going to have to check out Era and Magnificent!

Good lists. I predicted the crossover with the guys for Wingspan and Silver. Should’ve figured on Parks and maybe LOTR as well.

I am happy to see The Artemis Project make the list. I haven't played Black Angel or Trismegistus enough to properly place them. Until I do, The Artemis Project makes my top 3 with Underwater Cities and Wingspan. Nice lists, ladies. Well done.

Great choices - Era needs upgraded components. You all have a very similar "game choice style" as my wife and I. Thanks for the suggestions - I had not heard of Mountaineer.

Great list! I had never heard of Mountaineers, looks intriguing! A beast of a box though... I wish all boxes could be square shaped! Love Wingspan, It's a wonderful world, Tapestry and Black Angel. Taverns is good but I need to play it more to decide if it has enough replayability. My favorite filler was Silver & Gold.

Silver & Gold is a great game! I think some of the replayability for Taverns comes with the asymmetrical start set-up and trying to see if there is a good path to victory.

Of all the lists, men and women alike, I aligned most with Melissa's Top Ten list. Honestly though, 2019 was a great gaming year throughout. Here's to 2020. Happy holidays everyone! 😊

I’m glad The Artemis Project made it to a list! Wingspan is a favorite here. The Pearlbrook expansion is the Everdell release for this year. We didn’t have the game prior to the expansion. It is another new favorite!

Nice top 10. Paladins is definitely my favorite of the year. I've heard good things about Taverns, and tiny Towns. I actually don't have any roll and writes in my collection so might have to look at the ones you've mentioned.

I think I've played one game from these lists - Wingspan (great game). A lot I hope to play, especially Paladins, Beta Colony, Tapestry, Tiefenthal, Parks, and Artemis Project.

Sara was explaining that backers really haven't gotten their copies yet and she hasn't played the published version yet - just the prototype. She loved it that much that she wanted to mention it.

You know you have a good top 10 when I want to get several of the games on it....like now!! I tried looking up Mountaineers on a few popular sites and came away with nothing. I also plugged in the title on boardgameprices.com and nothing still. Is this a KS only?

As a female I do not get why women tend to prefer light games. My top ten would be all heavier games. Each of you have one maybe two heavy games, but the rest are all light games. It seems like whenever I see female reviewers they seem to choose light games. Not sure why this phenomenon exists. It would be an interesting study.

For me (Melissa), I tried to choose a variety of games. I love to play some of the lighter games with my family and casual players. My sweet spot is medium-heavy games. Some 2019 games that I haven't played yet (so weren't eligible for my list), but am interested in trying are Maracaibo, Copper Island, Crystal Palace, and Black Angel. For Katie, I'm sure her choices for this year were influenced by the fact that she has a 1 year old and can't dedicated as much time to longer games.

I was thinking the same, but all of their lists were great. The games weren't exactly extremely light. I like everything, but I'm more inclined to play heavier, longer games. Also, I'm kind of more demanding when it comes to lighter games. They must meet certain criteria or something 😅. But yeah, many of the female friends I have choose lighter games and are scared of big boxes for some reason =/.

Bosk is a beautiful game, but I don't really enjoy area majority (especially since Kevin is really good at it). That's why it didn't make my Top 10. It was in Kevin's, though. -- Melissa
