On the occasion of Rafi Saheb's 38th death anniversary, enjoy this extremely rare video of the Montreal concert, which I personally attended as a child. As Rafi Saheb was leaving the concert, I remember shaking his hand!

I never lived in India or Pakistan, but I love Indian music so much, especially songs of Mohammed Rafi Sahab. In 1987 the great Maestro Naushad Ali visited our county, we had a beautiful get-together with him, I sang a Mohd Rafi ji song, and he was very happy, and he commented so nicely on my song, I am still keeping those precious words. for me, those words are more precious than any Grammy award or so.

Rafi sahab ki avaaz me o surila pann thha jo aaj ke singers me zara bhi nahi hai chahe o sonu nigam kyun naho. Rafi sahab koi bhi mushkil gana kyun naho bahoth hi aasani se gate thhe unke gala hi aisa thha logical, melodious, evergreen, jo aaj ke singers me nahi hai chahe sonu nigam kyun naho. People compare Mohammad Rafi and Kishore Kumar all the time. It's a different thing that Kishore Kumar too had an amazing voice and he definitely knew singing but if you look at the talent and what one can do with the voice, Mohammed Rafi is "Taansen".

Rafi sahab was 55 in 1979. He left us just an year later.i am simply amazed what an incredible throw he commanded even at this age when its just next to impossible to sing the songs which he sang many many years earlier.undoubtedly its the hallmark our beloved genius especially the alaap of parda hai(2) AAA fame.What scale! What range! Tanveer mian thanks a ton for preserving& sharing this rare stage show. Its so heartening to learn from you that you were in the audience as a child & got the good fortune of not only listening to our beloved Legend but also lucky enough to have shaken hands with him. Indeed Tanveer bhai its such a blessing.

Legendary Rafi Saab was singing in this concert after making a strong come back only two years back.Because from 1st June 1971 to 31st December 1976 he had to go to through a depressing phase of his singing career because most of the Music directors Film Producers and Film heroes wanted only legendary Kishore Kumar as the male playback Singer at that period according to Veteran Journalist Raju Bharatan.

Oh my God! This is unbelievable. He is heavenly in live show, even better than recordings. And he sings the most difficult songs and hits the perfect notes even the high ones. Most singers would not dare…and he does it with ease.

मुझे गाने सुनने का शोक ही आज से तीन वर्ष पूर्व मोहम्मद रफी साहब का गाना "क्या हुआ तेरा वादा" सुनकर हुआ था। उसके बाद लगातार उनके कई गाने सुने उसके बाद रफी साहब के गाने सुनने का नशा सा हो गया। आज मेरी प्लेलिस्ट में मोहम्मद रफी साहब के 379 से ज्यादा गाने है। और में निरंतर नए नए गाने अपनी पसंद के अनुसार डाउनलोड करता रहता हु। बहुत सुकून महसूस होता है ये गाने सुनकर !
