Playing this is like patting your head and rubbing your stomach at the same time. With your right hand you have to operate a spring-loaded pull lever connected to a flywheel which once started keeps the music roll moving through the keyframe. At the same time the left hand needs to move the bellows in and out to create the air pressure to play the reeds. There is one set for in and another set for pulling outwards. (Please note the operator is left handed so only played half of the roll as you need a stronger right hand to play for a long time).
This has only 1 set of reeds for in/out, larger 28 and 40-note models have at least 2 sets. Full details are in the two Organette Books published by the Musical Box Society G.B. please see the website or send a msg.
