Tao Te Ching - Lao Tzu - full audio book w/ text read for meditation and sleeping - Eastern Philosophy. is a Chinese classic text traditionally credited to the 6th-century BC sage Laozi. The text's authorship, date of composition and date of compilation are debated. The oldest excavated portion dates back to the late 4th century BC, but modern scholarship dates other parts of the text as having been written-or at least compiled-later than the earliest portions of the Zhuangzi. The Tao Te Ching, along with the Zhuangzi, is a fundamental text for both philosophical and religious Taoism. It also strongly influenced other schools of Chinese philosophy and religion, including Legalism, Confucianism, and Buddhism, which was largely interpreted through the use of Taoist words and concepts when it was originally introduced to China. Many artists, including poets, painters, calligraphers, and gardeners, have used the Tao Te Ching as a source of inspiration. As someone who has listened to what is considered a very literal translation for a while I noticed certain things that sound like interpretive twists that make certain passages make sense. I just wonder how much the interpretive elements can be trusted. Perhaps a certain degree of reading into the text is simply inevitable.

Perhaps it follows the tradition as with the holy Bible texts. As the reader engages the text, the text engages the reader as to fit what is happening in the readers life will dictate how the texts are interpreted. Say for example a young man reads the Bible during a divorce. While he readeth the text, his mind in desperation, seek and find mental patterns within the text that comfort him about loneliness, and hope of discovering another love. Yet the same man reads the text again while he has been married for many years, and all desires are fulfilled. In that same text, he discovers comfort in age, and is comforted in the idea of the death process. Does my words here make sense to your ideology?

listen to 1/3. often pausing in between each chapter the value the words. great work! the one I read the most, they use "the Master like.."The master doesnt seek". And some other diffrences, and thats only good! love it!

I do not know what it is so i call it the Tao!! 😑 thats something even the Dos XX guy will be in awe of. But seriously like 90% of this was basically identical to the conversations i have with myself or my conscience or who ever it is i am speaking to telepathically and responds back and because of its origin date in the description box im having mixed emotions. The first being excitement and honestly special but on the other hand i feel like its nothing to be excited about but really to look at it as perhaps a burden of responsibility that should be taken very serious and sought after the reason why i am connected to it.

@@AltrusianGraceMedia I guess in my case its more of these same thoughts race through my mind all the time, i put them in practice but to convey it to the next person when they ask you why you do things a certain way or why you dont react to situations as others do is basically impossible but that never stopped me from trying and in the past I would give them a breakdown of cause and effect or the reasoning behind my madness and literally to a microscopic level if that makes sense and though at the time I didn't see anything complicated about it people looked at me like I'm insane best treated me that way after a while you start to believe it. With this upload of yours again it goes hand-in-hand with the conversations I have with myself because I guess even I question my methods I was working the whole time while listening to this I was supposed to be off 45 minutes ago and I just barely clocked out LOL I completely lost track of time

@@AltrusianGraceMedia Appearantly these conversations with myself I often have them outloud lol. A former boss of mine I had while working as a finish carpenter told me one day "hey do you know that you talk to yourself alot?" And i was like "what do you mean?" He said whenever i leave you working alone and i come to check on you, you are always talking to yourself and not just like random words but you are in full blown conversation" then he said dont worry though they say the smartest people do this.

Quick question brother, do you do all the art and design of your merchandise?? I really dig the lettering thats something I have always been into myself although i have difficulty gathering the time and space for it but i even began practicing calligraphy experimenting with fountain pens.

For some stuff, I seem to be a collector of fonts - no idea how many I even have and most I don't even use lol. I use some royalty free images and such but I also do my own. I use adobe Fireworks mostly, old program but I'm familiar with it

Yeah i have been doing some lettering recently i won't do whole alphabets instead ill do my kids names or since my son is really into drawing his fav game characters or cartoon characters ill font the names for him on a black book i got for him. Maybe ill style up your label name or related words incase you like em and will serve you for whatever purpose. Royalty free of course.

@@AltrusianGraceMedia If you are familiar with the brand "speed ball" they have tons of short literature books with tons of fonts and just little but very effective methods for learning them as well as pointers on how to use the font letter spacing etc i got one with a beginners calligraphy set i believe they have been publishing these little books since the 1940's. If anything though for me they serve best as creative inspiration.
