Cuz they know navy vessels take years to develop and build and how small the market is, what options does the navy really have? France, usa(never) , Russia(yeah whatever) , Spain(?), and then Indian. With Indian options being available without any strings attach navy can use Indian vessels, drones etc to poke china in the Indian Ocean without getting a strongly worded email from the West.

Wo daal barbar hi hai. Have you ever seen an uglier aircraft in your life? Put it side by side with the drones from General Atomics or even the Chinese GJ1 and Tapas looks like a piece of shit from some third world country's design. I am pretty sure if they make a few prototypes and take it to an air show. People will walk past by without looking at it. I sometimes wonder our people when they attempt to design stuff look do they look at what their peers are designing?

But in future i hope they also work on design so that we can also have idegineous badass system and it will also influence the export market. But currently our target is only our armed forces and not export customers

@@ayushraj627 No that's not the case any more. A big part of our new defense strategy is exports. Anything that is designed and used has to function and look the part. Also, it's not just aesthetics - most proven designs have passed the aerodynamic tests as well. To give an example of DRDO design: Just place an INSAS rifle side by side with an M4 both fire the same calibre bullets. One looks butt ugly & has the fit and finish of a weapon designed in dear ghazi khan and the other looks professional grade. Nobody is going to pay money for a butt ugly product. My question to DRDO is if they are incapable of coming up with professional designs why not take a cue from their western or even Chinese counterparts.

@@pravindrapatel6837 As per whom? Even DRDO's numbers are nothing but numbers from the developer/manufacturer. No one has tested them. And we all know that DRDO is known to lie through it's teeth. CAG literally released an entire report on how DRDO lies about it's products to MoD itself, let alone youtube channels like this one.

Doesn't work that way. Lower endurance means compromises at every stage. The launch pads will have to be closer to the border if the endurance is lower. You can't conduct deep sea missions. You will have to pay 2-3 times for the drones, and then for the operators, the runways, the hangars and everything. This will massively increase the footprint as well, which means more air defense equipment to safeguard the bases, and more security forces as well.

@@user-tk2sz7yj8r It will work perfectly in anti naxal operations, anti terror operations. Range is a bit different from endurance. Yes, more operators will be required, but if the price difference is significant then that will cover operating expenses.

I hope Tapas is not forced on our forces like ATAGS or Insas or Arjun were.

Army and airforce Don't know what they need. They give specifications that even cannot meet by any country. Like no piston engine drone can get 30k feet with piston engine with ammunition and electronic control system for 24hrs. Yes they get that achievement with empty drone. Same as how companies claim mileage of 451 km one charge of ev. But it gives only max 300-310km mileage same thing

Tapas isn't that heavy uav, piston engines are more than enough to power. Turboprop's are for big ucav's like mq-9.
