Tara Sutaria is set to present her first film from the forefront with Apurva. The gritty survival drama has already created quite an intrigue with its trailer and before the film's release, Tara, along with co-stars Abhishek Banerjee, Rajpal Yadav and director Nikhil Nagesh Bhat, got in a conversation with Bollywood Bubble host Nayandeep Rakshit. While Nikhil revealed his thought process behind Apurva, Tara bared her soul about someone finally seeing the potential in her, and giving her a role out of just the glam zone. She shared how frustrating it has been to be boxed because of the way she looks, and even Abhishek resonated with the sentiment as he has faced the same in his career. Even Rajpal spoke about being confined to just the comedy genre, before the team revealed their survival stories in life. They also shared the moments in their life that changed everything for them, and for Tara it included meeting Karan Johar and being considered to play Princess Jasmine in Aladdin. I don't think she was being narcissist. She just meant that actresses who look like her are usually given flower pot roles ....like a showpiece. She gets to hear such things from almost every director....like they usually box such actors in a particular role and never give them challenging roles where one can improve themselves and grow as an actor.

Why are people hating her? She didn't said that she is the most beautiful she said the reality! Outsiders like her are often not chosen for good films where they can potrey their talent it's really hard for them to get those type of films that's why they do eye candy type of roles to survive in the industry!

I don't think she is saying that she is beautiful thats why she isn't getting scripts. I think she is saying that she gets flower pot roles because of her looks and she is seeking more than mediocre roles. Priyanka Chopra said same during Barfi that director didn't want to cast her because of her looks but decided to cast her as Jilmil because Priyanka said she will do justice but Priyanka was senior then hence she had the influence which new comers like Tara wouldn't have.

Tara you were right when you said audience is smart and content is king so its better to let your work speak. Stop explaining yourself because people bave already seen your work in Disney and believe in you so focus on getting good scripts. You'll do fine.

Why tara keeps talking abt how she is boxed cz of her looks, language, how she speaks her choice of music. More than anything I think she has superiority complex. There are other beautiful girls, they done talk abt their looks and how they are boxed. She feels she is extraordinary.

Maybe because that's what she has experienced? She said director told her she wouldnt suit serious roles because of her looks and she was told to change her speaking style to appeal to mass but she said she'd rather not.

I just get amazed at the upbringing Tara received from her parents. Absolutely, no self awareness about her own mediocrity. Mark Twain was right that fools are full of confidence. I mean if Aishwarya Rai's looks didn't work against her, then how come this doppelganger of Radha Thadani is saying that about herself 😂😂!

I don't get the argument of looks working against her. Katrina Kaif has had the longest run amongst contemporary actresses, and is still considered, only cuz of her looks. Aishwarya Rai was pure ace who soared until she chose not to. She didn't act particularly well unless she was Bhansali heroine Kareena is back in OTT after having two kids. She is a mix of beauty and talent Deepika started mediocre, but lapped up in chunks as things got mileage When u lack a godfather backing you, you also have to be lucky to not have one going against you favouring others when you have Papa Jo working against you for favouring his umpteen adopted kids to bag projects that don't come to you, you are at sabotage If it was actually about looks, you wouldn't be boxed, rather be considered as a front running choice The idea is to hustle hard, reach out to content directors and take up work, go out to directors and ask for audition act with all your heart, get films, and to build a fanbase for yourself and be visible Within a span of some years or lesser, things will work out to take you to the top of being a leading lady.!!!

Neither Katrina or Ash were considered seriously for acting, especially Katrina. Before SLB, Ash was delivering flops in a row. Katrina got good scripts after Salman Khan entered her life and even then she got flower pot roles. Most people remember her for her songs than characters. Kareena is also not majorly remembered for her acting to be fair and she too delivered many flops but still managed to get roles.

Priyanka Chopra also said during Barfi that Basu wouldn't take her seriously and didn't want to cast her due to her looks - is that self victimising or stating what is true? Tara also saying she asks directors to trust her but they say her looks are too glamourous for serious roles.
