300 years old Largest "Shiva Lingam" in the Shibnibas Temple. 108 Shiva Temples were built by Nadia District King Krishna Chandra. In Shiv Niwas two of them are surviving still. The main temple was built in 1754 and is situated on the banks of Ichhamati River. Largest Shiva lingam of Eastern India It is a huge black "Kashtik Pathar" Shiva lingam of nearly 12 ft height. In order to pour water or milk on the lingam, one has to ascend a stair case of four stairs, on a flat platform, which is behind the lingam to perform the task of pouring and has to descend the other side of the stair case.
