I apologize ahead.of time because I Sometimes post several comments While watching. I can't help it. Makeup & skincare is .one of my favorite subjects. I've been inlove with makeup since the mid 70s. I’ve been binge watching all of Mel’s videos all week and she was talking about this foundation I don’t know how on Gods green earth I missed this new Dior natural nude foundation then as always I know my girl Tara has it so I quickly looked up this video .. Bless your heart. You are not a quitter! The inconsistency in shades alone would be enough for me to say screw it to Dior. But then all the powdering too? I hate to powder even once. There are too many beautiful foundations on the market to have to work that hard. Love ya for trying though!

I never realized how CLOSE we are in our foundation color choices! I am a 4W in Dior Backstage and Syracuse in Nars Sheer Glow. I normally go for a matte finish because I tend to get oily, but as I am getting older I am preferring a more natural finish because of the damn fine lines popping up 😩 so I really appreciate your EXTENSIVE testing so much!! So far Nars Sheer Glow and the newer Huda stick foundation are my favorites, so I think I am going to pass on this new Dior one!!!! 😘😘😘😘😘

@Tara - I know I’m a year late watching this video (it came up on my feed and I thought it was the new Lancôme before I read the title!) but I was curious if you’ve ever tried the Stans out sponge? You talked about sponges vs brushes and I don’t remember hearing you ever the mention the stans out sponge. If you haven’t, you definitely should! I actually hate sponges but this one is amazing! After 3-4 applications to “warm it up”, it’s like the most beautiful application method I’ve ever tried!

Thank you for the video on this Dior foundation. I cain't with these inconsistent Foundations. I need it to work straight outta the bottle. I ain't got time for mixing and matching. I use one of their other formula and it works just enough to get away with. But as you said, it's not easy to find a match in either of Doirs' formulas. It is a beautiful foundation if you can Match. Great review on this I just picked up the shade 3N and I think I will be happy with not picking out a warm shade. My holy grail foundation is Armani luminous silk and it lasts all day long without powder, except around the nose when allergy season is here. I used to use Dior foundations for over 10 years. I liked the capture total in the winter and the nude BB cream in the summer, and when they discontinued that I was devastated! I have yet to find anything as good to this day. If you have any recommendations for one, let me know!

Very thorough review! Have you tried it with a gripping primer like Sisley or Cover fx? And did that make a difference? I absolutely love Dior foundations And have almost all of them!! I know they oxidize so i would’ve gone with the lighter shade myself.

I have the same skin tone as you and I find the best match is Shade 3.5N. In summer I use the 3WO and 4WO in Forever and in the Face&Body.

Thank you for another great review Tara! I don’t have this foundation but have seen several reviews on it and everyone seems to feel differently about it depending on their skin type. I have actually just purchased the Armani Luminous Silk foundation so hoping it will be ok. Have you got that one? I feel if you have to buy two separate shades (ok if drugstore but expensive if high end) to make it work it really isn’t worth it.🥰💜

I just got a sample of this fountain from Ulta. I am glad you mentioned that the N is grey because I have noticed that foundations and others lately have looked ashy on my fair complexion. It also starts off radiant but then it sets down (with a little powder) to a matte. Not sure overall how I feel about it.

To be fair, Angela's face was very shiny prior to the foundation application. I think her base/moisturiser was too rich.

@@ChrissieSM correct but she posted another review today using the foundation with a primer in half of her face and without on other half plus she used the Givenchy powder and at the end of the day she looked very shiny/greasy. I’m sure it will look good on some people but for me it’s not a finish I enjoy.

We are foundation twins and I CANNOT find my match in Dior (except for using 3w in the concealer, and even then I mix it with Hourglass lol). I've purchased that damn Airflash three different times and could not get it to work for me! Which is a shame because it looks so pretty on other people. But yeah I knew this foundation would not be for me because of my color matching issues, but I still loved hearing your detailed thoughts!

Tara, I had the same experience with this foundation and I am not sure it works for my combo skin. Will try again with a different primer, maybe the blurring one will help to reduce shine.😘

It does look great on you though. Annoying how much you have to do to make it work. I second that opinion on the Chanel healthy glow. I love it so much. It has become my favorite. I always powder my foundations anyway esp my forehead and chin so maybe I should try this. I was waiting for it to hit Nordstrom or Sephora Bec I am unsure of the color match for me. How does it compare to the skin glow by Dior ? Which do you prefer ?

The neutral is so gray. I’m similar to your skin tone and I use the warm olive shade range. It’s perfect for me

Yes, I have a VERY difficult time finding a match in any Dior foundation so have just given-up!😒 My skin tone is medium-olive, leaning warm (my shades are 7.0 Tawny- 7.5 Shell Beige in Tom Ford & Sand in Chantecaille Future Skin). But the difficulty I have w/Dior is that their foundations are all too pink/ashy, too yellow & too light or too dark on me....even tried the olive shades Dior offers & they’re TOO olive for me. The jumps between shades can be rather drastic.

Im oily and i love this. I have to powder though but stays well. I tested dior and chanel les beiges. And Chanel didnt lasted i was soo oily but Dior lasted well for 12 hrs.so i ordered Dior. It looks beautiful on the skin and have a better coverage than Les beiges.xxxx

I was hoping this foundation would substitute the discontinued Dior Nude one but sadly it' not that good. Dior Nude is my forever favorite. I still can't find any foundation which would be this good for me :(

I love this foundation dior foundations are my fav! I got this the lys and the new catrice true skin all over tiktok their all very very similar to me. Edit. I'm normal and I set my whole face with milk blur powder and it last all day on me.

My absolute FAVORITE is the Tom Ford Traceless Stick Foundation. Nothing compares. Hehe. But, I can wear it with anything, no Powder, with Powder and it wears off naturally throughout the day and blends like butter..😁 It's definitely one of my top Favs in my entire collection❤❤❤

This has alot of alcohol, be careful with dry skin, at application it looks amazing but after some wear it will make your dry skin dryer. Just wanted to let you know.Hope it works for you.

Laura honestly i never really thought about the alcohol in cosmetics but for dry skin it makes a diffrence. Ceyereal Alcohol is actually good ( it keeps moisture in from what i have read) there are good and bad alcohols. Denatured is the worse, it's like pure alcohol pretty much i did not find out until i was using ysl all hoursemy FAVORITE EVER .i used it for a month and my skin was so so dry it took about 4 months to get it back to some type of normal. If they remved the alcohol from YSL i would use it forever. Hope that helps.

Hmmm I suspect this would not cope well with sudden hot flashes when suddenly it feels like your face is sweating 🥵🤣 I'm normal to dry but thanks to being premenipausal the struggle is real (to think I used to wish for the days I'd no longer have to deal with periods... this sh$t was not in the brochure 😫🤣). Might try and get a sample of this one if it ever lands here

Dior really fumbles with shades once you get to the 4 shades and up. The previous 41/Ochre was perfect for me but these new shades just don’t work. 4N is to grey, 4W and 4WO are right shade but too dark. And none of the 3 shades work for me (even though they oxidize).

Hey Tara, i feel disappointed they took away all their WO shades, ive been a long time buyer from Dior, and thats simply because the 2w0/3w0 shade is perfect. wheres the inclusivity? for £37, im not making a foundation just work.its 2021 this isnt good enough. unfortunately this time its a pass for me xx

So idk what's up with buying from some websites i tried to buy 2 shades of this but on the Dior website its not going through... 😭 telling me to use a different method of payment... Idk why i used it twice today no problem made a Sephora order then a purchase on the Dominique cosmetics website just fine.. This also happened to me the other day on Rephr site so i didn't buy anything. So now gotta wait on Dior to respond to my email.. 😤 guess this is saying don't buy this foundation... 😆

I’ve been trying so many foundations lately. You’re right, Dior’s shades are never consistent. It drives me insane. I have gone back to using my all time fave, Armani Luminous Silk, and I don’t think I will ever stray again. This one just didn’t work for me. The new Chanel didn’t work either. I am not impressed wkth the new Dior powder either.

I love a healthy skin but not a drippy over sheer foundation because then you defeat the purpose I having a flawless face… hmmmm I like the the face and body with Ellis faas mixed… Also the Dior forever mixed with a pinch of hats of labs is also nice takes the over matte feel of the Dior forever ….

This foundation is so so inconsistent. One day it looks flawless, the other day it is „swimming“ around my skin or setting in the pores like crazy. I tried it with cheap drugstore primer, Chanel primer, cream, nothing at all. Two different powders and I still don’t know how I will look after two hours. I bought this for my wedding but I will buy something else to be honest - on your big day foundation should be on point

Not concerned with the mask taking off the makeup. We aren’t going to be wearing the damn things for too much longer. At least I’m not
