Tarapith is one of the 51 Saktipiths. It is a famous location for the tantra vidya according to the Hindus. It is located at a smal village known as "tarapur" once at a distance of around 250 kms from Kolkata. Pilgrimages visit this place for the darshan of "Tara Ma" and worship to her. Also famous for her favorite disciple BamaKhepa and his birthplace.
Konkaitala at a distance of 60 km from Tarapith is also another Saktipith of Birbhum. This is also a must see place as a sight seeing of Tarapith. Added to this, Sonajhuri hat, a marketplace for local sells located at the beach of Kopai river is also remarkable.
