I quitted smoking to sing this kind of songs actually it's been my passion since from my childhood I mean western singing I'm in India my family is like orthodox full of Indian music but i like this kind of songs once my dad financially down every one asked me to study well and go for job I chose music stayed alone even without my parents but God gave me opportunity to play piano i learned piano till grade 8 in TCL But depression hit me when i had to sell my instrument for survival because my dad hadore loan debts to clear then addicted to junk food , smoking and drinking I quit drinking but i couldn't quit smoking but one fine day i heard you raise me up after hearing that song I did stop smoking and I'm going to finish my Grade 5 in singing though I'm 33years old right now i feel age is just a number hope i would become a good singer and sing this kind of gospel songs even though I'm not a Christian

Yes, I agree that the song sounds wonderful just as many other songs do but some songs like this one reaches deep into our hearts causing an emotional response, which is the Holy Spirit. God uses the Holy Spirit to speak to us in various ways and if you felt this song and words pulled at your heart God is speaking to you. Have you ever thought about giving your heart to Jesus, the creator of all things on earth and in the heavens? Give your life to Jesus and then listen and feel the song again. John 3:16-18 For God So Loved the World [16] “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. [17] For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him. [18] Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only Son of God. (ESV)

As a pagan, and as someone that never studied, or grew up on religion, I watched this video with a different set of eyes. I think it's very easy for humans to generate their own emotions, and then equate them with ideas already set in their minds. This is my explanation, and I know religious people don't agree.

I didn't literally a week after I had an experience this song come into my life id never heard of it GOD saved my life when no one else could even hear my cries I wasn't a believer trust me I get it but once you feel you just can't deny I felt done with the world wanted to end it all then I somehow was no longer suffering in any way it's hard to explain I dnt know what happened but I felt it overwhelming to be honest all I could think was I need to tell this to people ASAP I dnt think they believe me but I gotta try tell them still

In 2017 my wife somehow developed a mental condition where she became extremely sensitive to sounds. It became so bad that she could not even tolerate the singing of birds in the yard outside, and there were times where I literally had to go out to chase them away. No tv, no music, no sound at all was acceptable. This went on for months. I had put together a playlist of music, "Oceans" being one of them, and most all Hillsong. In addition to seeking psychiatric help, We were trying our own therapy to help bring her out of this. We started by playing the songs on the lowest volume setting that the laptop had, and even that was too loud at first. There were about 12 of our favorite songs, and every evening we would watch the vids and listen. As weeks and weeks passed, Lori allowed me to increase the volume little by little until l, thank the Lord, she was able to almost get to a pretty decent volume. The song Oceans was probably her favorite in the playlist. I can remember her sitting there, hands lifted to our Saviour, praising Him. Watching you Tara, with your hands lifted up, weeping, and your wonderful emotional reaction to this song made me weep in memory of my dear wife Lori. She passed away in 2018 from cancer. She's now in heaven praising the Lord in person. Thank you Tara for this video.

when i was 15yrs old, i tried committing suicide. i took 20 pills. i was so close to death. my whole body swelled up. i got bumps all over my body. my throat was startin to close up and i could barely even breathe. i knew i was seconds away from death. i was gasping for air. i got scared and regretted it right away. i wished ive never done it. for the first time in my life, i cried out to God and told him i dont wanna die. i jus need help. plz help me. plz help me. i wept. within seconds, i felt this warmth, love and peace surround me. i knew for a fact it was God. within seconds, he healed my whole body. i could breathe. swelling was gone. he instantly delivered me from suicidal thoughts and depression after strugglin with it for 6yrs. psychiatrists and psychologists and takin their medicine never helped. the only thing that WORKED was when i cried out to God and asked him for help. he instantly saved me and delivered me and performed miracles on me. he gave me a new outlook on life. for once in my life i actually wanted to live and not die. that was something odd for me cuz for 6yrs i wanted to die so bad. my mom had cancer and shes the reason why i tried taking my life cuz i didnt wanna lose her. i lost her at 16yrs old and lost my dad at 17yrs old. i didnt kno Jesus until i was 24 n a half yrs old. im 25 now n my relationship with Jesus is so strong. hes helped me change into a whole diff person. ppl actually see the miraculous change in me. if it wasnt for Jesus, id be dead right now. The only healer u need is Jesus. hes our healer. Go to Jesus for healing. im living proof 😊💖 Jesus loves u😊💖 he wants u to repent and forsake ur sins, be born again and place ur faith n trust in him. start havin a personal relationship with Jesus and obey him 😊💖

Me and my daughter got to meet her after a live performance. She puts everything into her singing. When she was done she had no voice left. she smiled, whispered and took pictures with my daughter. Truly a remarkable woman with great passion for what she is doing.

Oceans is one of the most powerful songs ever written but no one quite elevates it to this level like Hillsong. When you watch the singer she never looks to the audience for their approval. When she opens her eyes she looks upwards, meaning every word that she sings. As a Christian it must be profoundly meaningful for her to be standing on the ground where Jesus walked and singing up towards him. A very believable and powerful performance.......

I'm not a believer, but sometimes I wish I could believe for the exact reason Tara explained in this video, that faith can get you through the toughest trials in our lives. I found it very touching when we were barely 10 seconds into the song and you were already wiping tears away. I'm going to find the lyrics and read them to see what I can get out of it for myself. But if you read the Bible, read psalms or other loving book that will draw you close to God,... I miss reading the Bible myself. I think is time to start again. He is Worthy by Chris Tomlin is a song that speaks to me now. I think the world is broken and that brings me closer to nature and God the creator. I just want things to be different and have hope in something else besides this world. .

But when it comes to worship, try to just lose yourself and let go and be vulnerable before God, you may try it first in your closet. Not that you should force it, let it come from within. There's something special and powerful about become vulnerable before God. It's like Holy intimacy, like heaven on earth in your small closet (Psalm 56:8)

I cry everytime I’m at church and the praise band performs. Idk why it makes me so emotional every time but it does. My faith was reignited when I was diagnosed with sarcoma back in 2022 at age 35. A year or 2 before that I had a strong urge to go back to church and that was really the push I needed to get me in the doors and I can’t explain how much of a difference it has made in mine and my husbands lives.

I love these Hillsong songs. I am Catholic and see the upheaval that the Catholic Church has brought upon itself and hear about Hillsong United’s problems - no religion or faith has escaped Satan’s wiles, but these songs, I can just feel the love for God embedded in them. Churches are run by humans and we are sinners by nature - we can aspire to be be better than those who run our churches, we can pray for those within our church that have fallen, pray for God’s forgiveness and for their conversion.

I'm late to the video.. But so so glad I found it... I heard this song on a Facebook short this morning.. Ive been absent from church for about 2 years.. Ive had depression and anxiety my whole life... I left church 2 years ago because I got something in my head that made me think it was too commercial.. Ect. Last week I decided ive had enough and made a conscious decision to go back to church on christmas eve which obviously is today.. After I made that decision the depression built a bit more.. Anxiety was a bit more amped up... And this morning this song comes thru my Facebook feed.. And I only heard the "spirit lead me" part of the song.. I recognized the song and instantly lost it 😭 had to find it on KZfaq.. Your reaction popped up and I'm here typing this thru tears of joy.. Which as a dude isnt always the norm to be so vulnerable.. But I'm ok with being transparent And im still going to church this morning even tho the depression and darkness tried to stop me. 🙏🙌 ❤ God is good all the time!!

I have recently found this song, and now your beautiful and inspiring reaction to it and channel. This time last year i was diagnosed with cancer and underwent horribly painful treatment. Thank God, i survived and am totally healed. There were two dreadful moments when i believe He intervened to ease my pain. Your reaction reminded me just now of those moments. Thank you. And thanks to God for this song that led me to you...
