Meta have removed even more targeting options from their Facebook Ads platform... but what does this mean for advertisers, and how will Facebook marketers need to adapt their advertising strategy to ensure profitable ad results?

Great Video Ben. It is important for Advertisers to focus more on creating high-quality content that resonates with their audience, as this will become increasingly important for ad performance with less targeting options available. Quality over quantity will be key.

I think full funnel approach is working better. Running awareness campaign and retargeting with conversation campaign is doing well.

Meta is making sure to stay behind the competition. Working with Google Ads mainly but i dont see Meta anywhere close in terms of ads that need a solid targeting. Rough interest and broad targeting that is more like "reach as many people as possible" - maybe. But even then it seems Google isnt a bad option either. The last few changes Meta made for targeting are just bad - and they after all benefit Meta and their profits, not the advertisers.

Exactly, they're just throwing ads to people who are not even interested in your service just because meta ai "thinks" they might be. It's frustrating.

you dont need targeting on Facebook anymore. You just need creative that has the built in targeting. This is what people dont get

Hey man, I don't usually comment on videos... Here I am though! Could you make a video on the Intent Based Branding way of making ads on Facebook in 2024? Creating a video, getting viewers, then showing the now warm audience more videos until they get to a result like signing up to a newsletter or signing up on a new website. Thanks!

I'm unable to add my account ID in ads manager. I have added funds and also added my credit card. As soon as I'm trying to add my account ID it's asking me to make my first payment. I'm also unable to reach the meta help center. Although, I watched your video but still didn't find any solution. Kindly let me know what should I do. Please

I don't completely agree, meta wouldn't make change that would make it worse for us to advertise, they are simplifying it ,most like so people no longer need to depend on agency and can help it themselves, also been able to spend more and not been so scared of managing ads

This is honestly so annoying, I understand this works for some people but the company I market for only works in a small region in the United States and our ads keep getting pushed out of the SET region. How do I turn off this setting? Making my job 1000x's harder.

Does anyone know what the correct CONVERSION (Conversion location Choose where you want to drive traffic.) is for selling concert tickets on a third party website without me having access to a Facebook pixel. I don't mean my own website. Thanks

I would say your best option would be a traffic campaign optimised towards landing page views or maybe link clicks if you also wont be able to see landing page view data. As you won't be able to set up tracking or conversion events on the website this would be the most valuable metric/action to target

Actually, Meta”s “capability” to do the targeting leaves much to be desired. One clear example of their incompetence: when left to Meta, a product directed to women was targeted to men. As a result, the team had to explain to all these failed leads why the product wasn’t for them. All around, wasted money and resources.

Lol what you thinking? If a Product is only realted to woman, select the gender and then go broad… meta will do a great job then

I don’t think so. I think the best you could do is try and optimise your ad creative. But it makes no sense having an income target. Why not set it to 1.000.000€ or even better 10.000.000€.

So if we are supposed to trust Facebook's targeting, how will Facebook determine which audience to put my ad in front of, if I am not providing any sort of information to begin with? For example if I am advertising some kind of make up product why wouldn't Facebook put my ad in front of interested people as well as not interested people?

Hi Ben, how will this affect targeting when you're just just targeting "Construction Managers". And will they work out who to target from the ad copy. SO many questions....!

If that targeting option hasn't disappeared already then you are probably ok. And yes ad copy make a big difference in terms of who sees your ads.

This is can be taken as Meta shooting to their knee or a matter of them beign politically correct. But the reality is that they are taking out the control of the to who and where you advertise and that's not cool. Advantage audiences has a lot to work to be paired as the manual options

BEN- We have a new apparel brand (Unisex)- DO you recommend have 2 separate campaigns indefinitely (one for Male and one for Female) so efficiently match our gender specific creative to specific gender? IE pics/vids with men showing to men, and women showing to women audience. Run separate DCTs for both campaigns? Seems like we'd get better results/CTR instead of both sexes in one campagne and have creative with both sexes on them?

facebook ads are getting more expensive and are reaching really wrong audience !!!! hear me out i have a jewelry brand, i ran advertising 10 $ per day for 4 days, the campaign was send message , because i dont have a payment gateaway on my website so there is no way to use purchase campaign option as in my country everyone pays on delivery ,long story short, i received over 150 messages , and guess how many people bought????!! NON 0 !!!! so whats the problem ? ( btw i live in lebanon and the medium wage is 500 $, and my jewelry price is 650 $) so only conclusion i came up with is facebook was delivering it to the wrong audience who cant afford to puchase

Positive spin on a thoroughly terrible development. If you're selling underwear, allowing Facebook to find your audience is a relatively low risk proposition. But for anyone operating in a niche, Facebook's "Advantage Audience/Broad advertising" grift and the eventual phasing out of most meaningful targeting options is antithetical to marketing 101 best practices--and no amount of specious "AI-powered targeting is better" reasoning will change that.

Fb is not worth your time unless you already have a following, these days you better off spending your money on youtube and adsense or pretty much anything else, hell even twitter is a better option + you can also monetise your posts.

Nope - the reason that they are "removing" it was that it didn't exist in the first place - they just fire your ads out to the general population and if you have a niche market, you get no hits - been fighting about this since Meta took over - FB ads were originally great and Meta is a targeted ad disaster

video is GREAT, but the editing is stupid and profane, why do we need all of those "annoying pattern interrupts" = we are watching to the end anyways, if the value is inside!!!
