SPT Realism mod has finally made it to v1.0. This trailer highlights some of the new and existing features of Realism mod. Many more included and still to come! This trailer is also dedicated to those modders who did their part to make SPT more realistic, and the players who want EFT to be as hardcore and realistic as possible.

Stances, rewritten ballistics calculations and additional mechanics, rewritten recoil client-side, rewritten health system etc. what I wrote myself. SSH has talent of course, but some of the things he's done are based on the work of others (nexus, SamSwat), or unity store assets. None of us work in a vacuum, everything we do is iterative, using ideas, content or even code that came before.

yeah, its the OG game just needs to have a clearer direction. its marketed as realistic yet, movement (gunplay and movement are the foundations) is like CoD (double jump peeks, sprint peeking past doors etc) and now they are pulling some features from this to their game.

They should add community servers, then, people can spin up a server with such mod, choosing to allow only trusted players (non-cheaters). This would fix 99% of cheating issue, as well as balancing.

Half of the things here are not upgrades, just sidegrades. Yes it would be nice to see multicaliber guns or high-ready/low-ready stances and nvgs, but everything else is either an addition that is there just to be, or to make it more annoying/sidegrade already existing things. I don't see the developer overhauling movement system, making it slower which would make it realistic, in fact Fast sprint that is throwing m4 in the air would be more on the unrealistic side, unless there's a weight limit to the wight of the gun. I don't see him making protection better, just different. I don't see him changing anything beside some cosmetic improvements. I'm pretty sure bsg could do most of this, but they're not trying to add changes that have next to no impact on the game, they're still developing the game after all and need to work on new maps, weapons, gameplay mechanics, story and everything else. Also "have this new skin" is quite an interesting attitude considering it's a shortcut to smth you can get ingame and also that DOESN'T change the gameplay.

*Escape from Fontaine* Seriously though, the modders for SPT are incredible. At no charge they can outdo a AAA title that, no matter how much money and people are thrown at it, pales in comparison. Thank you Fontaine for your mod which I think is one of, if not the best, additions to SPT. Btw that 300 Blackout in the end got me good lmao. Good thing I have the painter mod with mag tapes so I won't make that mistake!

@FusRoBOB he put the wrong caliber round in the gun and it detonated out of battery, blowing the receiver up and injuring him.

@@slipperysoap-bob the rifle barrel can only fit anything smaller than .223 caliber. The round he loaded was a .30 caliber. It still chambers in Armalite-15 platforms (M4s, etc) because both .223 (aka 5.56) and .300 blackout casing diameters and lengths are exactly the same. .223 is bottlenecked into a .30 caliber casing for better velocity.

One thing I'd really wanna see in tarkov or realism is an animation for manual mag topping. like actually holding the mag and flicking the bullets in one by one so your hands are occupied just like with using meds.

One of the best mods for a game ever made. The medical overhaul in particular is absolutely 11/10 and BSG could learn a lot from it. It creates such a huge difference in gameplay and how you approach things. It's changes like these that need to happen to the base game to make it a slower-paced tactical shooter. Shame that the clueless community would probably hate it, since base EFT essentially became a gritty CoD with permadeath mechanics and some "pseudo-realism" years ago. But it's clear that a LOT of thought was put into the changes, and I really respect and appreciate it. I remember back when Tarkov first came out and it was pretty much at the forefront of gritty, realistic tactical shooters, or at least it was hyped to be. Many years have passed, and while other titles have released, improved and innovated in the genre, Tarkov has stagnated horrifically and not only fallen behind, but made many advances in the opposite direction. You have essentially given this neglected game a whole new lease on life and taken it in the direction it should have been moving in for all of these years of development - and you did it for free. I already have hundreds of hours played on this mod and I have no doubt I will rack up hundreds more. Thank you!!

Well said. I think “pseudo-realism” is a perfect way to describe Tarkov. It should be a slow-walk everywhere game when in reality, it’s a bunch of wannabe 60kg chads w keying everywhere………. And Nikita’s answers are add owl sounds and buyable clothing you can unlock in game. I’m fucking done with bsg man this community has let them slide far too long with this lackluster work. I’m so excited to uninstall tarkov and sink myself into this mod.

@@Heheipewpew Yeah, after years of broken promises I gave up a long time ago now. Take your time with the mod(s) as it does take some getting used to (I actually hated some of the features at first) but if you don't mind tinkering a little and exploring other mods too you can get a really cool personalised experience that plays much slower paced more like Tarkov "should" be.

firearm maneuvering positions (low ready, high ready, engagement pos, etc.) was one of the main drawbacks from the 'realism' aspect that Tarkov offered. This is awesome

I wish the progression of the player would be something too. Like if you only use pistols, your stability gets better and better with every shot. Or if you snipe a lot, eventually you can hold a steady shot for a pretty long time since you do it so often. Something like that. So that every wipe you can really assess a veteran vs a new player. I know it won't be fair for the casual Tarkov player, but Tarkov isnt fair to begin with.

SIT - Stay In Tarkov. It allows basic multiplayer, though it is a bit jank and requires mods specifically made for it though there are quite a few available.

Do they actually offer any kind of gameplay change? In the video it looks to be mostly cosmetic, do the the different stances affect aspects like recoil, movement speed or sway at all?

@@thebulletkin8393 yep. Pointfire offers some stabilisation like irl, low ready increases arm stamina regen, high ready increases running speed, and patrol stance increases walking speed, and arm stamina regen

Faceshields and nvg blocking ads is a big thing that would flip tarkov around.

How and why does noone ever talk about STALKER Anomaly and its modding community when looking at the Inspirations for Tarkov ? I am a yearlong stalker player, relatively new to the Tarkov scene. And honestly, seeing this trailer makes me really feel at home. It feels ALOT like hardcore stalker without the monsters and MUCH better graphics then the 15 year old game. Tarkov has alot of realism aspects that make it fun and rewarding. And I guess as a multiplayer game, certain adjustments need to be made. Tarkov has a very short time to kill, compared with other games like BF or COD (though I have not played titles of these series in the past 10 years competitively) Compared with this mod, it still feels like softcore and I actually want this what I see here to be tarkov online now :'D and have the worldbuilding and storytelling quality of Stalker. Anyone still with me ?

Wow, alright you’ve convinced me with only 3 minutes. I need to try and fix up my computer soon because this looks fun. Now the only real mod I need is one that handles quests better/clearer and, for my taste at least, it’d be perfect. Also the fact you’re doing this for free has earned a massive respect. I like how that last sentence was made before the madness that transpired yet also works perfectly afterwards.

I was running realism for awhile there. The tactical sprint and ready positions are what i really liked along with the surface slowdown multiplier.

TL;DR - Lovely mod, keep it up but f Tarkov and the streamer game vanilla has become, should have been this. ^^ The long keyboard warrior version xD: Aka what the game would have been had they made an awesome single player PvE game like Russia 2028 aka the original game they wanted to make instead of this PvP cheater mess. Don't get me wrong I love that the studio made it and they are getting deserved attention, but we would have had SO many features and cool realism had it not been for them having to focus on servers, cheaters and balance crap every update so they had to can features like progressive animation differences depending on what weapon system you're training etc. I understand that development doesn't work like that and they have dedicated people for those issues and it's not like they take workers from other ends of development to fix issues, but if y'all genuinely believe that more resources haven't gone into that for this small company over cool features originally planned, you're delusional. For the last few thinking that Tarkov will fund Russia 2028 are also lost, why don't we have a new Warcraft game? Because of WoW. Why don't we have a new Elder Scrolls game? Because of ESO. etc etc, do you really think they will focus on a single player game that will make no money over this massive infinite money online project as a small company with their company working 24/7 to fight cheaters and other things with an indie sized team? Yeah no. I hate what Tarkov has become, this online streamer meta run and gun crap. I genuinely have nothing against how people enjoy playing a game, but when was the last time you saw a tactical player in this game? The whole idea behind it was to play as such. I just genuinely don't understand the mentality of playing a game made to be tactical as they do Tarkov these days, why not play CoD by that point as that game was specifically made for people like that? It's like the current player base of Squad I guess. Either way I'll stick to S.T.A.L.K.E.R. GAMMA I guess and Road To Vostok or Incursion Red River I guess, games that are free to be feature focused and not deal with cheaters and a weird community with an identity crisis. But an absolute wonderful mod though SPTRM, honestly insane, I wish this was in game, they should implement your stuff in vanilla or hire you as this was literally the original idea anyway so not doing it would be going against the original vision. Love the work, keep it up and I hope you never get a cease and desist or something as this is amazing.

Well, after what I've seen in this video I don't even want to run orginal Tarkov. This recoil is so smooth and beautiful and looks way much better, the night vision view looks really cool. I wish I could see one day some of this features in actual Tarkov. Such a great job.
