It must have taken ages for you to put this video together and courage to share you thoughts. I'm so glad you did! ❤ Also, thank you for sharing your process... I did art at college and my tutors always whacked me down, telling me my work was kitsch (actually, it is! 😆 but I'm past caring)... they got to me so much, that I even doubted my process (pencil first, then paint and ink last). So glad to see you do it this way, too! ❤ As for the cards... maybe I can help? First decide where your info is coming from (God, the Universe, deity, ancestor etc). Once you trust your source (it's ok to fake it til you make it) then choose one style of choosing your cards for a reading. I like to take the cards which jump out, but sometimes nothing happens and I shuffle til I'm blue in the face. So now, if I don't get any jumping cards after a few shuffles, I tell my source (my God in my case) that I'm going to cut the deck and draw however many cards I require, from the top of the cut pile. Hope this makes sense, but to hell with what I do... choose a style stick with it and know, without any shadow of a doubt that the cards you see, are the ones you are meant to see. And our experience of the Tarot grows with us. You'll find over time, you may want to change how you shuffle or select cards... you'll even give your own personal meanings to certain cards (if not all) in addition to their traditional/guidebook meanings. Another thing to bear in mind, is to hold the cards in your hands or close to your heart (before selecting them)... kind of relax and go into a meditative state (if possible)... whilst thinking of the question you want the card/s to answer. Labrythos (not sure if I spelled it right) is a good site, but so is Biddy Tarot... kind of good to look at a couple of different online sources and cross reference. Also, get a couple of good reference books, which you can refer back to. Let me know if you want me to recommend a couple... not sure if you can get them in the US (I'm in the UK, but got them from Am*z*n). Agsin, thank you and good luck with your art! ❤
