If Psychic Bloodbending is this powerful without a full moon, imagine how much more deadly it would be WITH a full moon. 😨

Exactly I was so surprised when yakone blood bent a whole ROOM with people with no full moon and with his MIND. Meaning it has evolved alot to be even more powerful in hoping when the movie comes out it shows katara doing more blood bending with a full moon is crazy to think about.

The clues we needed to figure out Amon's secret were all given by episode 9 when we saw him resist Tarloks bloodbending. We knew from ATLA that a stronger waterbender can break the bloodbending hold of another waterbender (Katara vs Hama) And while Korra figured out Tarlok was Yakone's son from her visions of Aang's memory she forgot she first saw the vision when confronting Amon, Yakone's other son, not Tarlok. Aang was warning her about Amon way before we knew Tarlok was a problem.

I always assumed he was somehow using his bloodbending to block chi paths like when Azula shot Aang with lightning

Azula didn't block shit she just killed aang in thw avatar state but the writers felt bad about having a plot hole so it blocked his avatar state
@artistfloor9

@@humanoidfrog4645 How is that a “plot hole”? Azula’s intent wasn’t to block Aang’s chi, but it’s not a ridiculous idea to think that a major injury in a certain spot could block the energy pathway. I’m not sure why people get such a kick out of picking apart the magical system. Yeah we get it, it’s magic, not everything is going to make complete sense, but chi blocking had already been established as a thing.

He was. I read somewhere that his ability to “remove” people’s bending was explained in the art book
@lalalalisa41

@@humanoidfrog4645She literally gave a physical block to Aang by killing him. It's why he said he had trouble entering the AS after he was brought back, and it's why he immediately went into it after that block was unblocked during his fight with Ozai. He was already entering the AS at the end of S2 but was stopped and once it was unblocked later, it just resumed where it left off. Azula's intention was to kill Aang, not block chi paths but it's not farfetched to believe such a traumatic injury like that would have some huge effect after. Even Katara said she could feel a lot of mixed energies in that one spot he was hit during his healing season in 3x01.

11:22 I think their “bloodbending lineage” is just Yakone with his psychic any-moon bloodbending because as far as I can tell Hama discovered it. Maybe Yakone discovered it independently of her. Or he only tried learning it after he heard it was illegal, like “bloodbending was just declared illegal, which means it must be a thing one could learn. I’ll try it!”

The writing in ATLA is way better imo (and I think most agree), but there are some where Korra does better. The soundtracks are really good. And the fight scenes in Korra also look better for me. This is partially due to the animation quality, but it's also a lot more precise and smaller. In ATLA people throw big rocks and break the floor constantly, it makes sense that someone who fights in a city can't afford to damage as much, the police are a great example of this. For the writing, I do believe Korra isn't as amazing as ATLA. This is due to some many things, nostalgia, the fact that we already know this universe, changes we might not like and IMO the most important. In the first two seasons, the writers didn't know if they could write a 2nd season. Anyway, I enjoy watching you content. Keep it up.

Hey Avatar Meesh and Avatar Dee, "Happy Friday." I hope you two days are going well. I hope you two have a fantastic weekend. This was a good episode. The truth is Amon is a bender who is from the Water Tribe. And him and Tarrlok being brothers was a shocker. To get Tarrlok and Amon, who goes by Noatak backstory and how they dealt with an abusive father, Yakone. And how the two learn bloodbending to avenge him. But yes beside the love triangle the season 1 is really good. I'm looking forward to seeing you two reactions to the finale of season 1. But anyway I hope you two have a wonderful day. Stay safe, take care and stay amazing.

So I think your answer for how Amon was able to take people’s bending away was by bloodbending their Chi, permanently. I don’t think Amon had a way to reverse it. He studied chi blocking most likely, which is why all of his equalist members have knowledge on chi blocking, and he was the strongest source. And one thing to note is that, every time a person missed their attack towards Amon, it was theorized to be because he was psychically directing them to miss with his bloodbending and dodging attacks easily, it’s a sad story indeed. Bit of a spoiler at the end, so don’t let Dee see it 😂 but I’m glad they didn’t make this villain a whole 4 series long villain, each season has a different villain, which made it interesting… only downside is that each episode is a bit rushed and lacks depth in the storytelling unlike ATLA because they had over 20 episodes per season while LOK only had 12-14 episodes per season.

While the Avatar like Aang can take away one's bending by energy bending (as he was taught by the giant lion turtle in ATLA) Amon takes away bending by using water bending healing techniques to permanently block chi paths.
