This movie is about Wonder Boy fighting against (or running past) a horde of cute monsters.
The Oasis Boots that are normally required to cross the desert were not used in this movie, because it was slightly faster to go without them.
In Japan, the game is known as Wonder Boy V: Monster World III.

3:10 “Oh, it’s the Ocarina!” This game included an Ocarina before Nintendo added *TWO* into its aptly named “The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time”… Westone (the developers) and Sega (the publishers) were seven years ahead of Nintendo! But the question I’m left with is: Were there other games before *this game* that had an ocarina?

Fun fact: A Link to the Past also has an ocarina (wrongly translated as "flute")... and it was launched just a month after this Wonder Boy. However, the trend of "playing music with gamepad buttons" wasn't present until OoT, so WB was way ahead indeed.

I beat this on the Wonder Boy Collection. Not as good as Wonder Boy 1-3 for Sega Master system.

37:52 if you switch to the Marine Boots, you should be able to jump up and catch the rope (saving you several seconds).

I can't get passe the part of the start of the game where you have to bounds on these things that jump out of the water because the main character is too slow for me.
