Super Smash Bros. for the Nintendo 64 (usually referred to as Smash 64) is the first installment in the Super Smash Bros. series, developed by HAL Laboratory, directed by Masahiro Sakurai, published by Nintendo and released in 1999. The game became a commercial success, spawning various sequels on future Nintendo consoles, with many of the games in the franchise still having thriving competitive scenes to this day.
This movie is focused on entertainment, beating 1P Mode on Very Hard difficulty as Fox McCloud while defeating opponents in the most technical and stylish ways possible. This movie obsoletes the predecessor movie ( tasvideos.org/1190M ) as it is seen as being more entertaining.
Another movie, which aims for fastest completion time instead, can be watched here ( tasvideos.org/2842M ). There is also a movie that aims to complete all the "Board the Platforms" and "Break the Targets" bonus stages with all characters that can be watched here ( tasvideos.org/3493M ).

the windows 95 sound and 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘵 secret char unlock sound at the and has to be the sound that makes me the happiest in my entire life. I’ll be 30 in February. I was in first grade or kindergarten when this came out. Has been my favorite game ever since and I believe I associate the feeling of happiness with that sound an would stare at this unlock character, achievement, screen for hours after the sound went off, mesmerized, wishing that it had looped. Reminds me of season one, Pokémon in the morning, eating cereal, preparing for school a much simpler time when everyone was alive, right? Everyone was happy… how far have we fallen man

Kinda wish the newer smash bros games still had the score system like 64 and melee had tbh, especially since it would reward you for doing insane things (as you see in the results screen of this video).

Sakurai brought it up in one of his videos. Put simply translation issues. Was easy when you had 2 or 3 versions, now Smash has over 10.

Fun Fact: There's a rare occurrence in Quake III Arena which causes the announcer to utter that very phrase. I forget what triggered it, though.

this has been done already... it's not perfect, but 2.6 million seems to be around the limit.... kzfaq.info/get/bejne/f85oqbl4t9y7c6s.html but you can remove the time and inflict infinite damage and you could get infinite point technically. There is way to it RTA as well most notably creating a "black hole" using link invisi-bomb

We’re normalizing the use of AngryLion encoding, upscaled N64 can very often introduce visual bugs that are a pain to fix.
