@@trollface6553 Why is Mr. Sandman harder than Mike Tyson?
@trollface6553
@trollface6553 2 жыл бұрын
@@AkaiAzul Is harder to beat him without damage, is not only by his hooks in the first 50 seconds in battle, is also by his Dreamland Express attack (the 3 uppercuts attack), because he will execute that attack in random time so I can't get it. About Mike Tyson, you must see when his uppercuts and hooks are executed by him, but it may get you tired.

@@trollface6553 Once you learn the rhythm of Mr. Sandman, it's really not that hard (in my opinion). Quick-dodge all of his starting attacks and punch him once in return each time. After that phase is over, do some jabs - high punches, he'll dodge every time and counter-attack. Dodge and hit him in the face, wait for a second, and then punch him in the stomach. It'll do MORE damage than punching him twice, you'll know you did it right because it makes a special noise different from normal. When you run out of hearts, wait patiently for him to throw a move, dodge it, punch him, and repeat the process all over again. I personally find it difficult to dodge his left-side punch (left as in, from OUR perspective, Mac's left, our left) because we've never seen it before on any other fighter. When he does his Dreamland Express, you can tell he is going to do it because he'll start blocking all of your punches rather than dodging. When he's about to do it, he'll completely stop moving for a second, which gives you enough time to notice and react to it - even to someone like me who thinks of himself as being slower than average.
@trollface6553
@trollface6553 2 жыл бұрын
@@ZoofyZoof But he sometimes doesn't stop moving and can do a Dreamland Express in a surprising way. That's why he is so hard.

FAQ: Q: Why did Little Mac’s health drop to half before Don Flamenco II/Mr Sandman? A: This is to get certain punches out of the fighters which will allow the TAS to knock them down faster Q: Why is the rerecord count “Unknown”? A: Hex editing iirc Q: Is that Mario as a referee? A: Yes Q: Why do you let Mr Sandman knock you down? A: This is to trigger a Dreamline Express, 3 extremely quick uppercuts which reward a ton of counterpunches to knock Mr Sandman down faster. This Dreamline Express is also the reason that the TAS used select before the fight to lower it’s health to half, it took much less time to get knocked down by Sandman that way.

I'm 42 and got this game for my birthday back in '87 when I was 7 or 8 from my uncle. Still have it to this day. Beat tyson when I was like 9 or 10. Had the code and kids at school would show at my house and power through sandman and macho with not a scratch on me. Recently busted it out and can't even through tiger. Punched in tyson code and can't get out of first round!😅

Sandman does a Dreamland Express (that's his three quick uppercuts) immediately after knocking down Little Mac if it happens 1:59 or later into the first round. Successfully dodging a DE nets you around a free 20 punches on Sandman, so this is crucial to a round 1 TKO.

Some of them are _TKOs,_ wherein opponents get knocked down three times in the same round, so the ref says "you're done." I'd like to see a run where every opponent gets knocked down and _doesn't_ get back up. But, that might be boring, depending on the game logic. I remember that like it was yesterday. Sinister1's breakdown of the TAS that came out 7 years ago with McHazard's interview is classic.

which fights were improved? also, were they improved by ingame time or real time? final question, are those strats humanly possible (or at least some of them)?
@KoachKrab127
@KoachKrab127 3 жыл бұрын
Both Bald Bulls were improved. I noticed that.
@KoachKrab127
@KoachKrab127 3 жыл бұрын
Many of these strats rely on really really really good luck. For example, how much health refill an opponent gets when he gets up from a knockdown. Or, what kind of pattern he gives to you. Some opponents have 2 or 3 patterns they could throw at you. Some are more favorable than others. And Tyson delays his punches all the time in real life. McHazard manipulated the RNG so Tyson always throws his punches at the earliest possible times.

Every single one is humanly possible, but some of the fights have astronomically insane luck. The game is coded that if you throw a punch, and then quickly retap and hold the punch button as your first punch goes off, the second punch will also go off at the first moment possible (known as Buffering).

Anyone able to explain why Mac went to half health on Don Flamenco 2 and Mr Sandman, and why he took those hits/Knockdown vs Sandman?
@journey8692
@journey8692 Жыл бұрын
the knockdown was so that he would do a dreamland express. he does a dreamland express after you get up at around 2:00 into r1. this is the fastest way of dealing damage, so you get hit so that you get knocked down at exactly 1:59 so he does a dreamland express.
@journey8692
@journey8692 Жыл бұрын
if you hold select before a fight starts, it lowers your health. don's lowest refill only happens if you do not have full hp, hence using it there. doing this on sandman will make it easier to get knocked down at 1:59.

If I remember correctly, I think Mr. Sandman is the only opponent in this game with a randomized/semi-randomized attack pattern. In some ways, he seems more difficult than Tyson because his move telegraphs are quicker and trickier to read.

He is the final boss in the original arcade version. Probably the reason he is so difficult to beat.

Is there a reason you hit Soad Popinski once in the gut after acquiring the star? Why not just immediately go to uppercut? I have to trust that the TAS knows what its doing, but I'm just wondering why.

For the latest Punch Out game, why did Don Flamenco not come after Bald Bull and Super Macho Man not come after Mr. Sandman? Has anyone played both versions, and realized why? I played the Wii version, and Bald Bull and Mr. Sandman were the hardest opponents to me, and my brother took care of them for me. Super Macho Man was not much of a challenge to me. Mr. Sandman was the hardest opponent to me. Again, my experience is just from the Wii version, because that's the only version I played, and I only did Little Mac's first stand, and I realized I was not experienced enough to do Little Mac's second stand, because of that Bald Bull and Mr. Sandman.

Is there a difference between ducking and dodging in Punch Out?
@nunyabusiness9699
@nunyabusiness9699 3 жыл бұрын
I think it’s shorter to duck, either that or it’s mostly used as a buffer to counter as fast as possible
