Pac-Man features the cultural yellow dot icon in his classic maze game being chased by ghosts. This first overseas console release in 1988 was licensed by Nintendo and published by Tengen.
Watch as eien86 ( tasvideos.org/Users/Profile/e... ) completes a full cycle of mazes by collecting all dots in the 20 mazes, while avoiding the ghosts Blinky, Pinky, Inky and of course Clyde in record time.

I mean I sorta get that, because of the simple and addictive gameplay, but it stays that way for a single level and l it just becomes boring. And in contrast you other games like megaman 2, castlevaniea, and contra witch all have a lot more going for them

Sometimes less is more. While other games on the NES have more content and complexity those games can feel like a chore to play sometimes due to their length. Games like pac-man mainly serve as a nice 10-15 minutes of simple but fun gameplay and that’s all they need to be.

@@falconheavy0533 I mean I kinda get that, but these games aren’t to long all things considered like you could beat each of these in half an hour to an hour if you know what your doing

@@justananimator1752 I don’t agree with you there. Some of the most acclaimed NES games (SMB3 Contra Castlevania Ninja Gaiden the megaman hexology Zelda) may not seem long but due to their difficulty and lack of checkpoints you’ll most likely be spending more than an hour playing them. The games that I just mentioned above are better made and designed than pac-man but the og pac-man fulfills its purpose as a 15 minute time waster (this was back when the idea of video games containing anything more than three hours worth of content was considered impossible due to technical limitations) in a similar way that the original donkey kong did.

My dad used to watch my mom play this game and then they would go in the bedroom and we’d hear moaning from what turned out to be a starving man they kept chained in there.
