In accordance with standard procedure, Samus discarded all of the items she collected on previous adventures before embarking on this one.
Super Metroid has a wide variety of time-saving glitches to exploit, many of which are explained on the Super Metroid Tricks ( tasvideos.org/GameResources/S... ) page. Be sure to check it, as well as the author's comments ( tasvideos.org/6381S ), for more information on the improvements. This is an improvement of 6:28.70 over the predecessor movie.

There are 100 items in super metroid. The fanfare lasts approximately 6.5 seconds. That means 10 minutes and 48 seconds of this video is nothing more than fanfare.

I would love to see a version that edits out item grabs and screen transitions. But I will be plenty happy to see a full-length run. I know there are likely notes on this, but if anyone knows why there are sometimes powerbombs placed before screen transitions I would like to know if it is for swag or speed

As far as i know, the Super Metroid engine is programed solely in determination, dreams, and the hopes it will not break apart if you look at it funny. The power bomb will clear up some of the graphics memory, as it has to load it's special blending mode for the explosion, and, also clears the entirety of the sound queue. That makes un-loading rooms faster, loading rooms faster ( as the sound queue is empty and can't be cleared after the power bomb is over ), reduces lag from enemies waiting to perform an action, and unloads items on each given room.

I mean... it's a T.A.S. The AI is soo erratic and perfect, that it doesn't mess up, like some speedrunners do. *NO ROOM FOR ERROR*

@@SS-rc7uu AIs aren't involved in TAS. AI would even struggle with playing the game through XD. TAS are made by a human recording a (near) perfect input sequence which can be played back later.

Не знаю кому по кайфу наблюдать глитч-фейрверк, будь это хоть тысячу раз сложно воспроизвести, но лично для меня как для зрителя неприятно наблюдать то что происходит на экране.

Mto bom a run... mas depois que faz os glitches o jogo fica todo bugado e bagunçado...perde um pouco a graça para o jogador convencional a assistir... fica mto confuso.
