Streets of Rage 3 had the best controls though...and characters got a special move too.

SoR 3 had the best gameplay(not counting 4). 2 was better in how it's soundtrack was easier to digest, and it's the only advantage it has over 3. I WIsh people would see beyond the soundtrack and do SoR3 justice. Or rather Bare Knuckles 3

The soundtrack in SOR3 is good for the style of game that it is. It's not as good as it's predecessors because it's way overcooked, as SOR2 hitting mechanics were far more balanced.

Amazing run man, I've never seen such a flawless playthrough. The way you handled Jet was very satisfying. I always lose at least 2 lives fighting that boss. I'm definitely using your method next time I play through the game. In my opinion, SOR3 is the best game out of the series (not counting SOR4 because I haven't played it). A lot of people complain about the soundtrack, but I love it. The controls are a lot better as well, with more freedom of movement as well as specials.I'd pop this game in any day.

He's using a TAS(Tool Assist) which is pretty much a program that does most of the work for you and plays the game for you like a cpu playing for you but playing at an elite God level than what most humans can play at

@@DocKaosBeats Hmm I'll have to take a look at this program. But it is possible to master the game like that. Once you memorize attack patterns, and master the exploits, it's totally possible.

@@TheTrueEdge1 Yes it's possible to do so but they got it in the title that they are using a TAS which stands for Tool Assisted Speedrun but yeah I'm sure its possible to do so and if you can do it with this SOR I most definitely want to see it because this is the most difficult SOR of all them in my honest opinion

TAS (Tool Assisted Speedrun) is basically you play the game with slow downs and save states to achieve frame perfect game,timing in game and perfect RNG (random number generator, basically random im the game) through save states. Then you put your gameplay in specific program and this program plays it without save states and slow downs, with inputs that you did and shows frames.

Took me an hour, but I FINALLY beat Shiva the same way this guy did. And then I did it again. And again. Don't know if I'll be able to tomorrow. But i just did it 3 times in a row. Had to save the game right as I'm walking up right before Shiva just over the gate. Did it over and over and over again. Literally a full hour... Until I finnaly mastered it enough to beat him that same way. Oh my gosh... I'm so tired. Can't believe I did it.

The most difficult SOR game in the series for me. The repetitious music was a step down for the melody, and the sound effects were a bit tinny/distorted.

The repetitious music is supposed to give you the impression of decadence and danger. The songs are ususally faster and with more agression, giving you a sense of emergency, you need to do something as fast as possible. The ost was made this way on purpose, because unlike the second game they were trying to give more focus to storytelling. Sadly the story was gutted in the western release, as well as many unnecessary changes.

+John Kim i used wgens211. im not sure if that works on mac. i know for sure that Gens11a will work on mac. you can also use BizHawk as an alternative

Martin C It means a computer is putting in button inputs every frame. In other words, somebody will make a computer do certain button inputs at certain times to show how to perfectly speedrun a game. You have to put in inputs for every frame, so it’s very time consuming, and TAS can be beaten out just like regular speedruns.

15:55 Playing on a 100 Hz-screen makes the vibrations of the train almost invisible. It was easier with an older TV. ....... But this version sucks anyway, the japanese version is way easier, has the old colors, hidden levels from the Beta-Version (riding a bike) and this gay dude to beat up, very funny. ..........

It can only be done if you are using a 6 button controller. Star 1 is X, Forward, Forward. Star 2 is X, Down, Forward. Star 3 is X, Back, Down, Forward. You can do all of these moves without having any stars.

Not with Axel. It's a different story with Blaze, Zan and Shiva. Axel's offensive special does a good amount of damage but its not worth using because of how long the ending animation is and the recover of it. It would be move optimal to finish off normal enemies with blitz 2. I didn't learn that until i was pretty deep into make the TAS and I was to lazy to go back and do if over again. This isn't a good Axel TAS at all imo
