Chana dal 200 gm
Lauki 500 gm
Onion 1 no
Tomato 3 no
green Chilli 2 no
Bay leaf 2 no
oil 4 tbsp
Chopped Garlic 1.5 tsp
Cumin seeds 1/2 tsp
Coriander leaves
Coriander powder 1 spoon
Cumin powder 1/2 spoon
Turmeric powder 1/2 spoon
Degi Mirch powder 1 spoon
Kasoori methi 1/4 spoon
Hing
Garam Masala Powder 1/2 tsp

Thank you very much for sharing this version of lauki chana dal. The combination is unique and turned out very tasty. Its aroma and punch of Kasuri methi makes the dish very tasty. And I tried the recipe without onion and garlic still it was very tasty...

One of my absolutely fave dals with Lauki & love this recipe. Sometimes I give it a southy twist with curry patta, methi, rai, lasan ka vaghar & add some coconut milk at the end. For the Non veg crowd adding boneless chicken to this dal is also very tasty. Medium Shrimp can also be added, but at the vaghar stage at the end. All lovely combos that make it a huge fave.
