Duck Tales is a classic game in which Scrooge has to collect treasures from all over the world. Some of the levels are not completely straightforward, and collecting items is sometimes necessary before proceeding. His cane also doubles as an almighty pogo stick that can be used in various ways, which makes jumping a lot more fun.
This is the sixth TAS of Duck Tales. Minor improvements and refined strategies here and there contributed around an additional half second of improvement.
This is a 00:00.58 second improvement over the previous movie ( tasvideos.org/1267M ) due to general optimizations including lag reduction and subpixel optimization.

Loved the game as a kid. If you notice, the levels throughout the game are similar to the MegaMan games.

Actually, it has been one of the few games I could complete on the NES as a kid (I probably was 9). I wonder if you could choose easy mode only in European version.

Hi and I just watched it again, I am afraid that this is no joke at all. At 6:53 you got hit which is weird because you were doing so good. You don't have to, but if you want even a better record, I would take this video down and do this whole thing again. Clearly up to you though, either way, you did a good job :)@@GuanlongX

@@OperationChicago okay so 1. I didn't make this TAS 2. This isn't a recording of a human playing. This like if you took a list of inputs/button and played them into the game. It's not meant to be compared with real-time leaderboards since it's not a person playing in real time. 3. I'm not a DuckTales speedrunner myself, but the most likely reason why they got hit in the first place is probably because they had some extra time to spare while waiting for the bat to move to the left side of the screen. The time it takes for the bat to move to the left so they can bounce on it is faster than the time it would take for them to just hit the bat immediately and then have to go to the left and climb the rope. It's not a question of skill, it was a choice the person who created the video (the TASers are Aglar and MESHUGGAH) made. Also, these videos aren't ever taken down, even when a faster playthrough is done. You can always join a speedrunning community for DuckTales and ask yourself.
