Top Gear 2 is the sequel to SNES racing game Top Gear and was released for the Super Nintendo, the Sega Genesis, and Amiga computers. One of the main differences from its predecessor is its aim for a more realistic simulation. The game keeps track on what parts of the car are damaged and how it will affect the car, a fuel gauge is added, and the handling is harder and less arcade-like. Other differences include an upgrade system where you can spend money earned from winning races and racetrack pickups that can either give you extra money or nitro boosts.
Here, Technickle ( tasvideos.org/Users/Profile/T... ) improves on their previous "all tracks" run by 16 minutes thanks to using a plethora of new strategies, techniques, and glitches for a good number of tracks, along with tighter optimizations. Does TAS know how to drive a manual/stick? I didn't see the selection at start. Anyways, how would TAS know how to?

I like the parts where you made the car zipperflip through the 11th dimension and took 1st place very legitimately. Lol In all seriousness I can't even wrap my head around how the hell you broke those races, well done to you and whoever else contributed to figuring that out too!

My mans starts by hitting speeds only a Porsche 962 can produce back in 93, then somehow going EVEN FASTER, by shifting into R (clearly stands for Ridiculous) and sometimes even selecting the secret L gear (Ludicrous) which goes so fast that it appears that the race is won on the first lap (the glitching of the screen is just what it looks like when you've gone plaid)

best 2d racing game. true spirit of racing. also i like the grid placement when championship leaders are put in the back to test their skill. all in all racing today is a joke compared to these old days.

I always thought how ending the game with a foggy track was sort of anticlimactic

Tracks with foggy effects, do have actual backgrounds such as buildings or trains. However, it's unseen under normal conditions, and the only way to see them is to turn off background 3; priority 0 in BizHawk. for example, San Francisco has the golden gate bridge here and is hidden by normal means. The detail section where it shows the background when it's scrolling in theory still counts, but doesn't actually use that in the race.
