Many of the policies of the TATAs were even ahead of the west at that time, this company pioneered maternity leave, 8 hr work day, paid leaves, medical insurance etc for their employees when things like these were unheard of globally. Taj hotel is also the first electrified hotel in India, and probably in Asia.

GDP is the total amount of services and products sold in a country in a year. If you want to compare countries with companies then use revenue.

Bhai we have to stop this obsession with Pakistan... If we would keep making ourselves happy by comparing ourselves with them then we won't be able to go ahead... If we would keep comparing ourselves with mountain of garbage then it would become hard for us to realise that there is mud on our clothes too... We need to compare ourselves with countries like China, Israel, Singapore etc. in order to go ahead

@@CBS_official Yes, I think it is 7-8% bcz I remember Arun Jaitley once saying that Zoroastrians are the backbone of the Indian economy as they contribute a significant portion to Indian GDP while being only 0.005% of India's population. And I also remember hearing an economist while he gave this 7-8% data, although it was a long ago so i can't give you that video but if you would give any other data from any different relevant source then I would delete this comment....

Fun fact: Tata's trace their heritage to Iran. They're Parsis/Zoroastrians. Their ancestors escaped the Islamic invasion from Iran and came to India as refugees. That's why you see them having the Persian names such as Jahangir, Jamshed etc but they aren't Muslims. They're the real Persians.

British Raj didn't gave any economic opportunity....Tata when tried to establish a steel plant in India, it took them 20 yrs. To get govt. Approvals...a British civil servant even said, We won't let the Tata make a single penny out of that steel plant...Jashedji Tata was not even alive to see his dream factory producing it's first steel ..

They wouldn't have left India/S.Asia if world war 2 had not weakened them.

I love how this video portray socialists as some kind of monsters. Instead, socialism is the core of Indian democracy and constitution unlike west. Socialism looks for poor while capitalism helps rich get richer. Our current govt. is as much socialist as the last one. We have huge subsidies in agriculture, food and our banks are nationalised that is why our poor is stable and slowly rising instead of going in the downwards trajectory.
