Tatered. Tots.
36,000 years ago our ancestors, warmed and lit by fire stolen from Prometheus, painted pictures of bison and cattle in the caves of Altimira in northern Spain.
The 5th century BC Athens brought us the golden age of Pericles, the birth of democracy, and Artistotle's Poetics, the framework for every story since told.
The 17th century was Shakespeare, 18th the Declaration of Independence, 19th was Nietzche.
Then for a while there was nothing. Then, there was SUPER DELUXE. Then, nothing again.
Now is Tatered.

For people who keep commenting that tape sound quality was crap and they just 'break too easily'... That only happens if you buy shit quality tapes and play them on shit quality equipment. I used tapes for almost 3 decades and never had one get tangled in a player.

This video had me fooled for several years I assumed the cassettes were already loaded with blank tape then sent off for professionally recording from the original master tapes This now explains why both sides tend to be uneven lengths
@ChronoTango
@ChronoTango 2 ай бұрын
No, both sides tend to be uneven lengths because all songs aren’t the same length. The machine adds tones in between each length of recorded album, then the loading machine cuts the tape during those tones. The different length sides are a byproduct of differing track lengths and sometimes track listings are altered to shorten overall blank space.

A few years ago I bought a bunch of cassettes at my local thrift store that had the screws in them so that if a cartridge went bad, I could remove the tape and put it in a working tape cartridge. I have done that with some tapes that I bought while in the Navy back in 1972-76. I have an Elvis tape I bought in Japan with Japanese writing on it back then so it is 45 years old and I played it the other day and it is in the original cartridge. It used to be you could get tape players with a microphone built in or a socket for one. I guess now you have to buy a radio microphone to record anything. I think if people like Sony would make a radio cassette cd player, with the ability to record from a mic, more people might buy cassette tapes again.

Now do one that shows how to repair broken cassettes and video tapes. I recorded my first band over my real estate seminar cassette tape in 1986. You just needed to stick a piece of tape over the "copy protection" hole on the top of the tape. Or use earwax or boogers, depending upon how punk you are.

Listening to a cassette right now in my1990 Pioneer Elite system. Listening to a Dokken cassette I just received from eBay and playing it on my CT-93. Sounds great with the warmth and bass of a cassette. Have thousands of cassettes and only a few have had issues through the decades. Likely the problem lies with how they were stored after someone had moved on to CDs. If you want to have some fun find a good 3 head deck from Pioneer, Nakamichi or Sony from the mid 1980 through 1990 and if you have mechanical skills learn how to change the belts/idler. You will find enjoyment in fixing up a nice deck and playing that first cassette. You will be shocked at how a good recorded cassette will sound on a quality machine.

I see the tape being duplicated at high speed, cassettes being printed, tape being loaded into the cassettes, manual insertion of tapes and J-cards into cases, and automatic shrink wrapping. I take it this company doesn’t have the machines that automatically load cassettes and J-cards into cases. Also, I don’t see the bin-loop master machine, where is it? Surely they aren’t using a digital master! Here is an old low-resolution video that shows the whole process, including the loop master tape being made, bin-loop master machine and automatic cassette and J-card loader, along with two different styles of paper labeling machines. kzfaq.info/get/bejne/aMthnMuQ1p2xh5s.html
