Another way of taking those chrome covers off is by using a hose grip pliers. Pinch the cover off using the pliers and pull. Almost like a relay puller pliers concept.

Your totally wrong! Both will apply equal pressure to the slack adjusters. I can't believe you don't know this!!

You are right, brake imbalance can happen slightly, but DOT doesn't make you fail now because of different stroke chambers, even on the same axle, as long as they are the same size!@@TATEXPRESSINC
