Sri harikota space station, (satish Dhawan launching pad) Andhra pardesh, two others are Sir Abdul Kalam and Dr.Vikram sarabhai space centre. Heavy payload are sent to space from sri harikota because it is located near coastal area of bay of Bengal and more safe to avoid any mis happening during launching (because debris will fail in Bay of Bengal in case of mis happening .) As of today, majorly there are three rocket launching sites in India. Vikram Sarabhai Space Centre, Thiruvananthapuram (Thumba), Kerala, Satish Dhawan Space Centre (Sriharikota) located in Andhra Pradesh, and Dr Abdul Kalam Island(Wheeler Island ), which is located in Odisha, are the three rocket launching sites.
