In the end I felt the villain deserved more time. Her introduction in the prologue was fantastic! Right after beating Pardis (evilest evildoer of evil) her two emissaries show up and nearly wipe the floor with you as they declare war on our continent. We then see a scene of Tatloch's fleet, and you get the sense of this immense threat, making you realise that Pardis was just a pup.
And then in the first chapter she floods her forces into Donescu, utterly decimating your troops. Donescu's King then sacrifices himself, allowing you to escape. Later, she sends pieces of him to different kingdoms, as a testament to how menacing she is.
The finale didn't really follow up on that. Her forces dwindled as we somehow found ways to overwhelm her massive fleet. And then Orsterra is back to normal as if nothing happened. I feel they could have given her a much better ending that would suit her imposing nature. What if she killed off most of the important story characters, so that it felt like we barely made it? What if the only reason we defeated her is that she craved too much power and disintegrated herself as a result?
Alas, the story has been impeccable thus far, so I got nothing to complain about. It's just... Tatloch deserved a more fleshed out ending.
Notes about the fight:
- This was a really easy fight. As you can see I beat her on the first try with my story-team, a general-purpose party that is FAR from optimised. None of my strong attackers could hit her weaknesses, and that made the fight drag on. This just shows how easy it is to survive her attacks. With full health I easily survived her boost several times.
- If you want to be safe I recommend bringing an ice or lightning-focused comp. If you have W'ludai she will help too! Bring a regen healer and you're good to go!
- Remember to switch out charmed party members and you shouldn't have too much problem.

It's kinda funny that those with support class rings are way more stronger than those with attack class rings, even the chosen one's ring is a support class too

Pardis is kinda neat and it fits pretty well with the class(académic), i consider the merchant more stronger than Thief, but yeah, this is kinda accurate.

This fight really took me by surprise. I usually breeze through the story-fights, but this time i was beaten without any chance. My whole lvl 100 team did not really cover her weaknesses in the second phase. And after she charmed my regen buffer and my main dmg dealer killed him, i was really through it. I tried a second time to see Cyrus bite the dust in the third turn. Even with lvl 100, i am surprised to struggle this much. Guess i gotta have to try...

The worst is “recommended level 74” . I can’t lie the fact that it was hard made it very interesting. When charm was introduced I 🥹😭🤬🤯😱

@@jelimagna yeah, no joke. I finally beat it with my team of: Theo, Sofia, Tressa, Cyrus. Elvis, Viola, Gilderoy, Millard. Not my usual team, but it took her weaknesses well and had enough sustain against her. Hardest rounds were the whole team-charm attacks and hoping to get a heal out. With preparations a manageable fight, was harder than usual, but doable.

this fight was hard for me and I started playing when Berecain was released, so I had volcano gear to work with and beat it with one party member standing... It is also the only fight of the three where there is no story character behind your party making her even more effective. I would say Tatloch > Tiziano > Ceraphina in difficulty.

This one was so much more difficult than Oskha (or whatever it's spelled) for me. First run, deleted bc went in blind. Second run, deleted even with specialized team by charm gimmick bc I wasn't paying attention. Third time I was able to beat her but it was intense, some bad rng and planning and my Cyrus was charmed for 5 freaking turns. But alfyn + Tressa made up for it. Oskha was a cooler fight, more cinematic? Maybe... This one was a little bland at the end, just hit hard then villain go zzz but I'm a Tatloch fan, her VA is one of my favorites.

I ran in blind, so I only have one row that can hit the weakness lol. Cyrus and Gilderoy are carrying hard, also Hatsumi keeps helping with both HP and SP. Still, I have Viola to assist with extra breaking too. I'm able to beat her on 1st try tho, she's not as hard as BoW where I have to setup a specialize party. I love the part where I forgot to look at who's charmed which resulted in Fiore nuked right into Scarecrow's face.

I think you're right about the ease of the fight. Although, I took her second form down to shoot 15k HP or so and her multiple Charms eventually did me in and forced me to continue with rubies (sigh). I was not about to do all that for just 15k HP 🤣. Near the end she charmed the whole front multiple times and I couldn't keep up.

@@EmpyreanSky Yes, I did! Of course, thanks to all your cumulative knowledge, lol. I think I just went too long since I wasn't prepared for the fight and it took me over 34 turns. I see it took you 10 less turns. But even so, I took her down to about 15k HP left with very suboptimal story team on first try 😁.

@@ManuelMena3 That is more than anyone can ask for really. You don't know what you are getting into until you try! No need to count turns on bosses you only have to defeat once ;)

Recommended level: 74 I made a team purposefully to cover her weaknesses, all high 80s mid 90s. Still wiped because I got SP stalled Suure. Seems I need to farm the new berserk equipments… Quick edit to ask: How much HP does she have in her Lady of Grace form? The fight feels like it drags on forever :/

I am not sure, but it felt like in the 500k range. The fight here drags on because I used no dedicated attackers to hit her weaknesses. A specialised team centered around Ice or Lightning would make quick work of her.

This was harder for me than Oshka because i don't have char that can do fire or lightning ( i have glossom tho but he's weak ).. F please Cyrus come home

If you got Sofia you can build your team around the ice weakness! Aslyte got a triple-hit ice attack as well.

She definitely got me with all that Charm crap. Had her down to her last sliver of health and my own team KO’d themselves. 🤦🏽‍♂️

2nd try for me. Just got a bit unlucky with my unit placement (outside of Viola only had Cyrus and Tressa for shielbreaking and they were both on the same line) and the fact she charmed both my Lumis and Agnes right as Regen was about to wear off. But yeah she is 100% more manageable than Oskha.

Also I agree with your story critisism. It was just kinda "That was it?" Also they really went and made the boss that introduces charm as a status an octopus monster huh? Bet the devs had a good laugh with that x)

Question. If you have 2B, how come you still have Fiore in your story team? I asked because I was planning on swapping out some units from my story team now that I got units like 2B and A2 and more.

Its an aesthetic thing. I don't think the nier characters match well with Orsterra. Otherwise I probably would have.

I may be a bit late to the party but I am wondering, Tatloch's second phase has 5 weaknesses for me, that being a sword weakness. Any idea why that might be?

Yeah they nerfed both her and Oskha in a later patch. The extra weakness was to ensure that more players could defeat them.

Lady of Grace? Isn't that Sealctige's? I don't mind spoiler, I only play OT 2 and watch OT1 gameplay.. what exactly happened in COTC?

You are correct, however, Tatloch is using a ring imbued with Sealticge's power. Hence her transformation has the title. There are 8 rings in this game named after 8 of the 13 gods. Huntress, Flamebringer, Thunderblade, Prince of Thieves, Scholarking, Trader, Charitable and Lady of Grace. So far we've fought and gathered 6 of these, and you (the player), possess the Flamebringer's ring.

@@EmpyreanSky thank you so much for the explanation!! Cotc is not available in SE Asia so I can only rely on English gameplay to understand the game itself 😂 I've just seen several videos and I got to say the story of cotc is a lot darker than in the OT1 and OT2.. thank you for the great work 👍👍

@@putra.m.tampubolon The story in CotC is incredible! It's worth a play through just for that. It is indeed darker, the lore also goes deeper, and the world itself feels much larger. I recommend the channel of FeatherGamer555 if you can't play the game and want to watch the stories :www.youtube.com/@FeatherGamer555/playlists You'll find the main story under "The Master" and "The Bestower". The master is the first half, but you probably already know :)

Imagine going through all the work of the two phases so the boss start spamming charm on both front and back row and you rely on RNG to win lmao, not everyone will be lucky like in this video, i promise this fight will go to sh1t 90% of the time

So why exactly do so many of you guys consider Oskha harder??? I have no clue. Both fights are definitely tense and not easy for sure. But Oskha was not as hard imo. Once you have the right weaknesses there really wasn't much of a threat for me personally. But this fight here can easily become BS when she keeps using that charm move and you have 6+ characters charmed. It's absolutely crazy.

Yeah you got a point there. Oskha is probably easier with a good team, while Tatloch is probably easier with a bad team. I consider Tatloch easier since you can basically use turtle strats. You can't do that with Oskha since he removes his weaknesses, and if you don't break him in time he will utterly decimate you. Tatloch's boost attack was less dangerous.

All three boss fights are no fair my highest lvl champion is 71 and these boss fight where recommended lvl 74 bullshit my entire squad was being wiped out in one attack so far I have only beat Oshka and Ceraphina. I will say oshka is hard countered by fiore ex though But Ceraphina is a dmg check for sure if you get long enough in she autokills your enitre team so if cant do dmg you will never win I found out the hard way after a 30 minute struggle for survival Havent even tried Bestower of Power 3 the trauma

I believe the sword weakness was added later. So what we got was the pre-nerf tatloch. Just use your strongest attackers then, and use 4 stars and thieves to break shields.

charm adds way too much rng to this fight. It is not a good game mechanic to inflat difficulty. Especially since we do not have a counter play to charm in the game.

True, but she only hits front row so you can change in the members who aren't charmed. She has a boost attack later that hits the entire party but it only lasts for 1 turn.

@@EmpyreanSkyThats right, YOU didnt have this problem bcs your fight was relatively quickly, If you take long enough the Boss will start spamming charm and you will lose, theres no way around nuking the Boss with the right characters or using rubies
