They had a WR TrenDavion Dickson, broke the national touchdown catch record, with 39 that year. In the state championship game, he caught 4, including the game winner in OT, and possibly the best catch I've seen on any level, a one handed catch in the 2nd qtr. Post HS, it's easier to list the schools that didn't offer him a scholarship...Ohio state and Boston College. He was part of 2 major programs before ever suiting up for his first college game. Texas and Baylor. UT was a de-commit, and left Baylor as the coaching scandal happened, went to Houston Cougars. Left Houston with no explanation or reasons from him, his family or even coaching staff. Recently surfaced at Texas Southern University, is now a Junior, hasnt missed a beat since 2014. He's taking over games, and is putting his conference rivals in fear mode, when he steps on the field. He still has a shot at the NFL, but it's a long shot. Being at a D-3 school, won't get much honest looks, but his 3 school switches may be heavily criticized unfairly. Watch his videos, 2014 highlights. In those, you'll see the other player in his QB, Shelton Eppler. This guy. Could've been the next Brett Favre. Played a little D3 ball, broke some records, and is now selling insurance back home in Navasota. So many others, but these two--stand out over nearly most I've scouted

There's def a lot of talent out there. I have a friend that played hs ball w a dude that just got drafted, and he was like "Damn I shoulda kept playing bc he wasn't any better than me". People just get burnt out and life happens for better or worse.

@@DaggerofTime very true. School sports have changed so much over the years. In my day, football was in the fall, basketball/wrestling in the winter, then baseball/track in the spring. Now, baseball is year round, basketball has expanded, etc... In Texas, the high school football coaches are making triple the teachers salary, and only coaching football, no classrooms to teach. These coaches are constantly working with middle school coaches on how to coach them, so they’ll be ready to hit the ground running in HS. Moving families of future star athletes to other districts, it’s crazy. One rule that coaches live by, is never buy a home. Only RENT, because you can be fired at will, never a promise to be employed tomorrow. The business of the NFL has trickled down all the way to jr high level.
