TATTOO BLOWOUTS!! What you need to know. Plus BLOWING OUT some lines on my leg in the name of KZfaq Science. In todays video we take a look at what a blowout is, how to avoid them, and ways you can fix them. We start by going over the different layers of skin starting with the epidermis (top layer of skin) followed by the Dermis (aka the sweet spot) and finally we have the Hypodermis (this is the fatty layer of skin) Where the blowouts take place. Our goal in tattooing is to try to consistently put our tattoo ink into the dermis. However if the ink goes to deep and lands in the Hypodermis then you will see what is known as a blowout. This is when ink goes to deep and can no longer hold its desired form and expands under the skin. Blowouts can be a pain in the butt so learning how to avoid them is key. We will also be going over how to cover up/ fix a blowout in the event you end up with one. Last but not least I will bust out my leg and do my best to show you what a blow out looks like in real time. Finally I will do the unthinkable by slapping my leg to see if hitting fresh lines or a fresh tattoo can cause even more of a blown out effect in the skin. This one hurt so I hope you enjoy it!! 🤘🤘

Voltage and hand speed can cause blow outs as well, not as simple as just depth. High voltage with slow hand speed physically pumps to much ink in an area and can cause puffy lines and blow outs, just like how low voltage and fast hand speed can cause a tattoo to disappear when healed.

In my experience blowouts don't always show up immediately either, which I didn't see mentioned in the video. Chances are the last 3 or 4 lines should end up with a ton more color around them a day or to into healing, I would be interested in seeing a follow up video with how they look in the next week or so. I love your videos thank you!

Dude, hilarious man. I enjoyed this video immensely. Hist my 5-cents, I also had an experience where the client actually hit a corner of a table a day after her tattoo session and you can see the impact and the way the lines of the furniture turned out. It was crazy, but I learned that it's still sitting on the skin and any impact can make a blowout as well; and of course that artist as well. Great stuff man.

You're currently teaching a tattoo artist in the making bro!!! Thank you so much 🙌 I'm gonna leave a lil leg space just to carry on what you did for me and hopefully teach someone someday lol.

Oh I'm so sorry for the pain you went through making this video. I'm trying my hand at tattooing and damn, you went above and beyond. I've haven't even started on myself yet and I could tell that the first time you moved the needle was to much.

Dude, you are awesome. Best thing what i like in your channel, is that you show how to do it and how it looks in real life. You don't show pictures or tell only stories, but you realy show and tell what is what and how it looks. I realy like your channel!

Hey man just an idea but you should do a video series of your subscribers sending in pictures of their own tattoos that they have done and you can and tell us what we could do different or what we could do to improve the tattoos! Great video!

I have perfect examples of blowouts & scarring on the first couple tattoos I did on myself. The scarring is bad too- bumped out throughout a whole tattoo.. I used a 1rl standard needle on a rotary machine. I had no clue what I was doing. This was right before Art-Something made his KZfaq debut!

I get to start my apprenticeship at the ripe age of 49 lol. You pushed me brother and I can never say thank you enough.
