Today we will be Tattooing several pieces/brands of Fake Skin, in order to find the best fake skin to practice on. I start with the thinnest and cheapest fake skin then slowly move along to what I think is the best of the bunch. We will start off by laying down a stencil on each piece to see how well the fake skin takes the stencil and how well the stencil holds up after only drying for a short 10 min. Next I will begin lining each piece using the CNC Q2 and a 9 tight round liner. Also we will be shading the fake skin with a mag needle using both the whip shading technique and the pendulum shading technique. The products used in the video are REEL SKIN, POUND OF FLESH and 2 off brands one very thin and the other a bit thicker. Big thank you to Mike Johnson for sending these skins in for us to test out!! Below are some links to where you can find these skins. There are other places you can find these as well these are just the places I found them at.

Every time I see you wiping the stencil instead of dabbing it I wanna say SWIPER NO SWIPING!!!! idk why, but I know watching you wipe your stencil away constantly is annoying me, only bc it was a personal bad habit for SO long early on... but that said, thanks for the review!! And I'm in the same boat you are in terms of cost to value, I think...

I found that using that super cheap thin stuff you started out with forced/helped me to develop extreme control of my penetration depth (because it is so thin), it was a good trainer in that regard for me.

If you hit your stencil (after applying it) with a hair dryer on high heat holding it roughly 1/4-1/2” away from the skin for a couple minutes and then let it sit for 10 mins, you won’t have to wait overnight.

I've been using the no go for practice, and I thought all the trouble I was having was because of my skill and not the skin I was using!!! It is so reassuring to see a professional have the same problems I do!! Thank you for doing this video!!!

i like pound of flesh because they offer different skintones to work on and also (if you have the money to spend on it) they offer silicone hands and other body parts, so you can get used to working on non-flat surfaces

Hey Dave, for the Reelskin: rubbing in a little talc powder before applying your stencill stuff really helps with bleeding, smearing and keeps the stencil on a little longer!

FYI for anyone coming in later. Double check the thickness before ordering. I ordered some fake skin and thought I was getting a deal. Reason it was cheap was cause it was thin af

I just started to practice tattooing and I agree 100% on the first fake skin you tested out. I did not like it at all, it didn’t wipe well and the ink just smeared and would not come out. I believe I have the 3rd one you tattooed and I hit much better results. I was recommended pound of flesh by a friend and this video really helped out. 👍🏻 that will definitely be my next purchase to practice on. Love your videos! Super helpful! Keep up the good work!

I’ve been using that thin rubbish and actually very happy what I’ve achieved...I have some real skin ready to use on a more complicated design and after seeing this excited to use it, thanks for the videos. From someone who cannot quit their day job to follow their dream, I’m learning a lot from you and am proving it’s not too late to learn a new skill 🤟

Yay! I’m so excited! I made a couple rookie mistakes and bought that awful thin skin and it was a horror to work with, I got a way better brand and worked it last night! I want to send it in for you to review as well! Thank you for these videos they are an amazing service to those who don’t have the resources tools and time to go the “old fashioned way” thank youuuuu
