Print out the design on paper and shade it with a pencil! I draw all my designs in a sketchbook, pencil and paper, so when I go to tattoo it I have the original finished drawing in front of me for reference

Please make a video on smooth shading. I'm sure you will. Your videos are always awesome! I'm having issues where it seems like I can only whip shade and not every piece is meant to have the little dots that whip shading makes. Please be specific on voltage that you're running your gun at also for the different types of shading. Please and thanks so much❤

Would recommend sketching on paper and practicing there. Shading depends on the placement of light. This goes back to basic art 101. Good luck

Been looking forward to this ep, thanks! I have a question: Should I still be aiming for a 1.5-2mm depth when shading? Towards the end you mention about it only going into the first layer of skin as we don’t need to press too hard. Is this ok? Will the ink not fall out?

You will not notice that it falls out, because it is gradually introduced into the skin. In some cases it might be smart to extend the shadows (a tiny bit!!) further than necessary so that after the healing process it looks good…

When you have a blank tattoo or just the outline, how do you know where to add shading?
@TattooDallas
@TattooDallas 7 ай бұрын
Honestly depends on the design and you can do it by imagining where the light would be coming from. Or you can imagine if you seen something like a flower outside where the sun would be coming from and where you would see shadows on the pedals and leaves. Like with him doing the tooth the light would be coming from the top of the design and where the shading is going it where the lights not able to hit or other spots are casting the shadow
