And yet we just can't help ourselves swimming and boating there it's just too damn beautiful and refreshingly clear water. Bless you super volcano

Even though most are quite weak, that's still a lot of aftershocks!

The activity does concern me even though many are weak. With the amount of activity globally increasing I worry a future impact may not be far off. 😒 Keep up the good work people. 👍👍😏

What if you drew it in 3D space. Each quake a point on a triangle or tetrahedron. The opacity determined by the area or volume. 0..n quakes first triangle 0,1,2. Next tri 1,2,3. And so on...

My mate Gary from down at the pub reckons it's going to blow. He'd know, he's unemployed so he has lots of free time to study.

All this caused by the pressure buildup of steam and super hot rocky material. Every so often rocks gotta slip past each other and Steam finds a way to vent some pressure into a lower pressure pocket. Although I am also curious about the 5.2 happening in the deep a few days later. Do we have modelling for what the subducting crust down there is shaped like?

It has been confirmed that it was magmatic in origin

The entire Taupo Volcanic Rift is filled with Volcanic activity. The big thing is we don't see the swelling or bulging or scale of volcanism to be stressed about it. Although I might not want to invest in Taupo property for 10 years? mostly because I am overcautious.
