I'm intrigued and really wanna try a Taurus out. Like many old time shooters I'm Leary of there past history. There doesn't seem to be any problems with the gx4 series that I can see. Is this correct?

@@tonyrogo227 I've owned the GX4 for little over a year and its been nothing but great for me, the only downside I'll say is the coating on the slide can get pretty scratched up depending on the holster you have, but other than that no other issues I've came across. Hope this helps!!

I've never been a big Taurus fan, but I gotta say, this is the result of a manufacturer actually listening to the consumer and incorporating the things we want in a concealed carry gun. Other companies should take note. Well done, Taurus. Edit: Haha, ok, I just finished watching the rest of the video and you said the exact same thing. I gotta stop doing that.

I have the Gx4 and gx4xl. The gx4 has over 500 rounds without any malfunctions. I’ve only had the xl for 2 weeks and 175 rounds. Both have been flawless.

I love Taurus especially for your first pistol! I have a raging bull 44 magnum and a pt111 and they both shoot great! I have had a few Taurus handguns and they have all shot good! That lifetime warranty is the best thing about them.

Ive always been interested in the gx4 and glad to see they finally made an update/upgrade to it. They were so focused on just the g3 for so long. Would love to see comparisons with the usual suspects and even against the g3c's.

After getting into carrying and starting with a Glock 43 back in 2020 and thought it was great but last April I got the GX4 and it has turned me away from my 43. Just got the XL slide 3 weeks ago and it’s great fits my Riton MPRD great. Thanks for the great content, it’s great and by far the best I think.

The gx4 xl was definitely a surprise. I snagged one about a month ago equipped with the riton micro red dot. I never really bothered to keep taurus on my radar. Was looking for a micro to swap out my s&w shield ez. Ended up seeing the gx4 xl and picking it up. It just felt great in the hand and a lot lighter than my s&w. Figured it was probably going to be a chore to shoot and keep the recoil down but the price point was worth it. Once I got home and ran it out back. I instantly fell in love with the gun. For what it is,it's a really flat shooter. Recoil isn't bad at all. I fight it more on my S&W than the taurus. I thinking it's due to the deep beaver tailish cut taurus has. You can really get your hand under the gun to keep if from wanting to rock. I hope with the fire control module setup. Taurus plans are to release frames where the control units can be swapped to different styled frames.

I have the regular GX4 and it's awesome. When the TORO was released I was a bit disappointed I didn't wait but now considering the GX4 XL. Taurus has upped their quality and design.

I have the TORO XL. First time at the range out of the box the second round was jamming. Took it apart and cleaned it. 500rds later...runs like a champ. Love the longer mags for my hands though I have flush and pinky also. Crisp trigger.

It seems to me that if you don't clean a lubricate, I'm at least once or twice before the range. People seem to get that.

I just bought one, took it to the range three weeks later, and ran 100 rounds through it. Started shooting a little low, then tried compensating was shooting too high, then I found my sweet spot, and started pumping all 13 drop in the clip and slamming in the other one, and I was shooting like a madman trying to kill off a bunch of thugs trying to break in my house, and by the time I was done with that Target after shooting it for the first time I would have taken out or The Intruders with every shot I put on to that target. Great gun at a very great price especially with the rebate

I don’t know but surprisingly the rear iron sights out of the box need adjustments. This was noticed by me and a salesperson at a gun store of multiple items of this particular gun. Easy fix but worth mentioning. He went back and checked the shipments and the entire stock had the same needed adjustment. Still a good option as Taurus has stepped up their game.

Another one to consider is the cr920, at the high end (although is a p365 even more?), as a quality and value comparison.... I know the mr920 I bought, based on your fantastic review was worth it.

Love the GX4. One of the best designed guns ever IMO. Never shot the XL, but I can see why they're winning awards. I really think the sheet metal FCU kind of design is better than the P365 chassis (and the others).

Damn it, ink isn't even dry on my Canik TP9sfx and I already want this. I sold my G2c (liked it didn't love it) but I still want a compact. The gx4 was looking good but it was just too small....well, ask and you shall receive. Great review.

Hello Tactical Considerations, Thanks for the well produced and informative video! I've not yet fired the GX4XL, but I have fired the GX4 and I found it to be amazingly accurate and reliable, it's got a great feeling trigger (imo) it's easy to conceal and carry, and with the extended mag it felt good in my X-large hands. I'm going to purchase the GX4XL in the not-too-distant future. New Sub. 👍

I know you just did a video on the G3 series, so a direct comparison, even though these guns fit slightly different categories, would be a good watch as well.

I Have a GX4 and I really like it! The only problem I have with it is the mag release spring is really wimpy. Weather you pocket carry or holster carry just the slightest pressure on that mag button and it will puke that mag out. Being a retired LEO I depend on this as my EDC. Sent an E-Mail to Taurus and I am waiting for a answer from them on a solution.

I think they did an update on that a while back .. the spring was definitely not as tough as it should have been. I took mine out and bent it to be stiffer.

IMO, Taurus has truly upped their poly-pistol game significantly. The G2 & 3 series were the first really successful models from Taurus that weren't based on their affiliation with Beretta. I believe that the TX-22 and GX4 have really proven that Taurus is capable of competing in the popular markets with fresh designs that give the people what they want at a price that most any buyer can afford. The GX4 lineup has a very good out of the box trigger by comparison to many more affordable brands and even more top tier brands. They aren't quite as good as Canik's lineup but the quality has vastly improved.

I’ve owned firearms and have been shooting since 1976. I NEVER considered buying a Taurus. But all the recent reviews I have been seeing on the GX4 XL may make me change my mind. All seem to be very positive and especially for the price.

Just got to gx4, I ran about 50 rounds through it then I was called by the dealer saying there's a recall on. I just sent in my pt140 because of a lawsuit settlement. I was told it could be four-to-six weeks before I get a replacement g2c.

I used to carry the original gx4 and ended up selling it because I had the same problem with dropping mags under recoil. I know it wasn't the gun itself but I just could not find a way to grip it that would prevent that from happening. I'm 5'10" at 150 lbs with generally small hands. After trying to fix that issue through about 500 rds and having no luck I decided I couldn't trust my life to this gun and sold it for a canik rival.

I carry the gx4 and like it a lot. However, it is my second one since I had to return the first one due to a large list of issues. They have some QC issues they need to get ironed out still

EPS Carry is the shield rmsc pattern with no lugs it should screw right on unless there is a change in design.

Are the regular gx4 and the XL slides interchangeable like the sig p365's? I only ask since Taurus never seems to have the gx4 Toro slides in stock, but they are available for the XL.

I've had the opportunity to test 3 of them now. And in that time I did not have any issues that concerned me about reliability while carrying them. That being said the quality control can be hit-or-miss when it comes to a more budget pistol so you always have to prove it on the range for yourself

I have the GX4 TORO (Not XL) and I like the gun a lot. It shoots great and conceals great. The only complaint I have is that the trigger will bruise the bottom of my trigger finger if I run a hundred or so rounds through it. not sure why it does that. Good enough to carry, but not a range toy.

Glad you like it. As for the finger bruise I'd be willing to bet you are just slightly getting the meat of your finger right under the trigger as you are working it back and forth making contact with the trigger guard pinching it slightly

Do you know if the Nomad 9F Glock 17 gen 5 frame would work with a gen 4 glock 17? I am asking because I have looked EVERYWHERE for a aftermarket frame that will work with my Glock 34 gen 4 and cannot find any solutions. Thanks for any help

Here's the problem with that that frame is specifically filled for a Gen. For 19 blocking block and I do believe the glock 34 is a Gen. For 17 locking block so the barrel will not work

Good video. This is an option I'd not considered. Could you do a video or share your thoughts comparing the Taurus GX4-XL and the Mossberg MC2sc? Trying to find a pistol for my wife and the 365s and Hellcats are out of the running. These two budget pistols (what a plus!) seem to be two good SOFT shooting pistols, and that's one thing I think a lot of women need in order to want to go shooting rather than being dragged along (because in all honesty they probably wouldn't ever want to shoot if we didn't make them).

Taurus is doing some big things lately. (Or little things?) Good job Taurus. Also.....Taurus figured out how to make the trigger safety flush with the shoe, Springfield figured it out, SIG figured it out, yet Glock can't seem to do the same. I don't like to modify the triggers in my carry pistols. But my 43x mos trigger sucks. Otherwise, it's my favorite EDC. The hellcat osp being a close second. Come on Glock! Take some dang notes! Don't make me buy a gx4 XL! Lol
