European missile manufacturer MBDA has suspended the manufacturing of Taurus cruise missiles due to contracting issues. The production of Taurus stealth missiles was abruptly halted due to the federal government’s decision not to place further orders. According to German branch head of MBDA, the production was halted as the defence industry is not allowed to produce stockpiles without orders. According to German magazine Der Spiegel, MBDA insists on speeding up the German government's decision-making on production orders. MBDA's German division head, Thomas Gottschild said “We can do it much better and faster here in Germany”. Watch the video to find out more.

Yes, because any sane person would think that stopping production of one of the best weapons against a belligerent neighbor is the best way to go. Restarting production is not a switch that you can turn on and off at will, if it stays off for too long, production capabilities will be either lost or reassigned, and you could end up needing to invest more time and money to restart it afterwards, they are not allowed to export so they can't keep producing it. Take as an example any of the old airplanes the US have that wanted to restart production, they simply can't without expending as much money and time as the original plane (F22 the biggest example). It sucks that the contractor has to be the one telling the idiots at the government how much of a fuck up they are doing, but someone has to tell them.

different in the arms industry though for example, the world is stuggling to find 155mm shells not only to replace their own stocks but also to send to a conflict zone, why? because there were no long term contacts to make more, so manufacruring base was massively reduced, 2 yrs in and still stuggling

Why is the world doing the same mistakes again like 70+ years ago? We hear the same things again like „it belongs to our empire“ and „we will bring it back home again“. Not to speak about „removing“ a culture and heritage while calling it „the problem“ and that it needs to be solved. Should people read more history books to understand where we are heading to again, or is it the education which did not go trough this part of history?

Both. A lot of classes, as well as ways of raising children, have eliminated critical thinking and analysis. The focus is all on math and science while cutting history classes and the arts. It is pushed by western cultures and politicians who do not want a citizenry that questions. It also takes a lot of time to do thorough informed research, which people who are struggling to make ends meet do not have. In addition, mainstream media is often misleading or portraying information with a lack of context, with a specific political goal in mind.

The German Government has had two years to start preparing for what is coming and I would hope/pray that that time has not been entirely squandered by people who have forgotten the lessons of European history, particularly that of the last five hundred years - Scholz needs to pull his head out of the sand or resign so he can be replaced by someone who is wise in the ways of the world. His attitude reminds me of why people speed, and why people drink and drive - it's always other people who doing the dying. No sane person wants war, but history and human nature tells us all too well that when they come for you you need to be ready.

Germany didn't pay enough to the US defense service, according to former US President Donald Trump's assessment. Germany is a core member of NATO led by the US military support, at the same time, the nation hasn't invested enough defense budgets so far even though the nation is a richer state in the EU. On top of that, weapon builders in Germany & France sent outdated weapons with some functional errors to Ukraine although Ukrainians have very hard moments on the battlefront. Without enough funds for national defense, can't maintain peaceful lives.

What's the point in producing a missile that doesn't deter nor enhance their security, as it is unlikely to be used. The reason being that the return would be a nuke as some NATO are obviously fearful, as is Germany. Besides, will the US respond to a Russian nuke in Europe at the cost of her own destruction. Probably, Russia will have her ICBMs primed if they choose to go down this road. Let's get real Germany, Russia isn't such a demon, but you certainly want her to be. @@DARKGAMING-lg2qf Quote _"Germany has no money it's industry is collapsing due to those stupid sanctions"_ Germany has one of the lowest dept rates in Europe and much less than the USA. It's a question of priorities, not money.

@@The_Stef😂😂😂😂😂 Quite funny. So why the Bundeswehr needs an extra money in debt of 100 billion?

Yeah... I don't mind Scholz. There where plenty of daring Germans around in 1939. How well did that go?

@@arturschlegel-ky2wtStrange how people make claims here which do not reflect reality in any way. Yes, the pandemic and this Russian war has had it‘s consequences for the economies worldwide. But there is more to it than just that. And no, the European or German economy is not breaking down and people in Europe should talk to their grand-grand parents to realize, how life has been 100 years ago and how well we live today.
