I was DM for a game once where I created a an underwater tavern called the “Drowned Mans Drink” it was a sunken pirate ship converted into a bar by its undead crew trying to raise money for a new ship.

_The tavern proceeded to burn down, due to the Bard distracting everyone from the fire that started when the lantern fell. Poor Larry was forced to sell his family heirloom and his last memory of his mother in order to rebuild the tavern. Everyone inside died, burning to death while enthralled by the Bard's singing._

I'm in love with the design for the goblin girl in the rail away, its so indescribably adorable.

DnD: the one pasttime that can successfully convince three individual content creators to make a THREE MINUTE LONG SONG as a trailer for a BOOK.

This gave me some ideas for my own taverns. One that I’m going to put in my next session will be “The Wandering Keg”, an artificier based tavern. The whole 3 story building is on 12 massive legs, and moves from town to town. There’s a bar on the first floor, a tinkerers store/workshop on the second, and the top floor is an inn.

In a cosmic horror campaign, I had a royal with a painting called "Tavern From Another World" and it’s the Nighthawks painting. Anyone can enter inside it and they’ll be in the Phillies diner which is also a secret tavern and can sometimes meet denizens from different universes/realities who have also went into the Nighthawks painting in their universe. The guy running it is the waiter in the actual painting named either Ray or Jay and speaks in an old New Yorker accent. He's always happy to see new customers, especially bards who are willing to play songs. When you come in with no customers around, you'll always find him reading newspapers or listening to the radio. He's always got an ear open for you and will happily listen to your problems. At Phillies it's always really late at night, no matter what time it is. The atmosphere always feels lonely whenever its quiet. serves food from 1940s diner menus and has a secret menu for alcohol of all kinds from the real world back in the 1940s. Any violence or threats made will be forcefully teleported out of the painting by Jay and can no longer enter Nighthawks.

Oh, _honestly. Advertising_ for no fewer than _three_ other taverns while singing in someone else's bar? Why, I should say! The _nerve._

This is a D&D campaign I've been wanting to put together for years: One of the players inherits a run-down hole-in-the-wall tavern, and over the course of the game must work to build it up to a truly grand establishment, questing for unique ingredients, dealing with suspicious clientele, deciding whether to act on the rumors they collect themselves or to pass them on to younger adventurers, and building a reputation in the town, be that as a respectable pillar of the community or as a dark den of murderers and villains to be dreaded.

Without spoiling anything from the book, Poor Larry getting mocked at the start of this is so much more of a "kick them when they're down" moment.

I love how the animation of the taverns get increasingly hazy and magical as the tavern crawl goes on. It mimics the effects of one's perception as you drink more and more (going underwater where the atmosphere flows, and finally in the Watering Hole where things are floating and foggy). Very clever!

She often takes the form of a mortal bard to visit or advertise her favorite establishments and punish the ones that fail in their purpose by advising patrons to go elsewhere.

Fights are between two people and last 10 seconds, or your both out, a rule the Regulars help him enforce. Down on your luck? Benson will still give ya a drink in exchange for a story and encourage ya, then when your luck turns around, maybe you'll be the one to buy a round for the house. Benson doesn't like talkin about his days adventurin' much, on account of his curse that doesn't allow him to touch coin anymore. Luckily he's got Minnie Many Hands: An Ex-Adventurer who didn't like risking her life and just got great at one spell: Mage Hand. You've got 5 seconds to order cuz this Gnome pretty much runs the whole floor, taking orders, serving, and slipping the coppers and silvers behind the bar. Best watch your head if you're up and about, drinks are flyin around here, Literally. So whether you've just joined the guild, or about to embark on your 20th quest, come on down and enjoy a drink, because a journey of 1000 miles starts with the First Steps.

if she’s able to teleport that well then she probably is high enough level to have multiple polymorphs, she could definitely defeat a Kracken

This actually gave me the inspiration to redo my entire intro to my Zelda-Themed D&D Campaign, and gave me the idea to add taverns to each area of the map, and give them thematic drinks as well. Thank you, Jocat and everyone else involved in this project, for not just making an amazing animation and song, but inspiring me to do better. :D

This song literally gives me an idea for a DnD campaign called Tavern Crawl. One player is the "Tavern Keeper" who has the ability to teleport the party to random taverns. The taverns could be dungeons where you have to actually fight your way through and hope you survive just to get to the tavern at the end, where you're awarded with riches and powerful items... or it's just a tavern where you show up, have a few drinks, eat good food (maybe), and sleep.
