Hey man, this is something that everyone on this earth struggles with. Some people were made to be attuned to it and recognize their inward pain, while others feel it and are obsessed with trying to fill the hole with people, drugs, parties, things etc. But clearly as someone who's experienced loneliness like you have you'd know none of that cuts it. I've been through it too and there's only one real way to overcome that feeling of loneliness, the feeling of not being enough, the feeling of not being cared for. You have to realize that everyone's biggest hill to overcome is the demons inside of them, and the only way they can find their purpose is to give their life to Christ. I've felt the love of Jesus first hand man, it's real, and it had been chasing me down even when I was depressed, and he's been waiting for you as well. He loves you and has a plan for you, all you have to do is turn to him and let him take your burdens away.

I relate to travis so much, sat up all night long on the verge of crying wondering where it all went wrong and literally going everywhere by your self and barley having any friends, and falling in love with a girl and shorly after anything happens u make one fuck up and she leaves you and then you stuck loving a girl that you cant have and the pain you feel when you know shes never coming back, and the intense urge to just have some more thrill in your dull leads you to do the most insane things just to change the situation your in

There was also a man who was just as lonesome and full of despair (maybe even more so than Travis) as the main character of this film. He mentioned he watched this movie so many times because of how parallel his life was to it. He had no prospects, no true friends other than acquaintances from work and his brother and no ability to come out of his comfort zone to the point where he died by his own hand.. but not before he sent a package full of acid in attempt to harm a celebrity he so deeply induged himself knowing full well she'd never acknowledge him any other way aside from a traumatic experience that would always haunt her. The only way he'd ever get a sense of "accomplishment" and achieving his fantasies. His name was Ricardo Lopez. I implore all men and women suffering from the perpetual state that is loneliness to do ALL they can to break the shackles of contempt and especially ESPECIALLY to put an end to dwelling in your own thoughts.. you'll find nothing but terrible ideas as did Travis and Ricardo had.

Vejo muitas pessoas solitárias nesses comentários, eu sei muito bem o que é exatamente isso. Descobri que as amizades que fiz em minha vida, realmente não eram verdadeiras, e ainda por cima, minha mãe sofreu um acidente, e ficou incapaz numa cama de hospital. Com tudo isso acabei ficando absolutamente sozinho. Tanto é, que eu preciso fazer um exame médico que precisa de acompanhante, e nem isso eu tenho. Mesmo assim, tô nem aí, o que me resta agora é sobreviver, para dar uma partida digna para minha mãe, e depois, ir até o fim so pra ver pra ver o resultado. Ja estou há 2 anos nessa luta.

Senior year prom I went with a girl that shared a lot of the same hobbies. And we both liked each other but I was to scared to ask her out. Now I’m a junior in college and I haven’t even had a date or talked with her since. I completely blew the best opportunity I’ll probably ever have.

That happened to me( keeping myself out of a relationship because of heart break)the only difference is that the girl I met never wanted a relationship from the start but I kept finding myself thinking about her alot so I finally told her we shouldn't be anything at all since I only think about her that way and I just ended that "friendship" to save myself from anymore attachment towards her and convincing myself it would work eventually so I just explained that to her and said my goodbyes
