The tournament takes place for the 143rd time and is the fourth and final Grand Slam of the year. Last year, Spain's Carlos Alcaraz and Poland's Iga Swiatek claimed the men's and women's singles titles. The drop volley Djoko pulls at 2:40 is one of the finest net play i've ever seen !!, the inclinaison of the racket is geometric, he did fantastic at the net on this GS, especially vs Meddy.

Taylor really played. I don’t see why the media calling him names. The thing is when you’re playing the King of tennis, whether the king wins or loses, his opponent will have to give his entire body.

He's the GOAT. But every month Alcaraz is noticeably faster and stronger. I think the tipping point occurred this month. If they face each other in the Final, unless Alcaraz is having a weirdly bad day, I expect Carlos' outrageous speed and energy to give him the first set. And I think he learned last month in the Finals of the Cincinnati Open that the all-time greats never relax their focus, which is what Carlos did and that allowed Novak back into the match.

The fact that he was going for huge winners--and making a huge number of errors doing it--shows the difference in level between him and a fairly-below-average Djokovic performance. If you're only winning 28% of your second service points, you're far the second best player on that court. He hasn't got the elite movement to win enough rallies, so he has to go for low-percentage winners. 51 unforced errors is a number for the overmatched.

When you have to go for huge winners just trying to stay even with a guy who's not even playing his best tennis...you've got a problem. Fritz: 51 unforced errors, 28% second service points won. Oof. Compare how each guy moves and you'll see why this happened.

Strangely, despite getting more break points than anyone else, his conversion rate has been the worst. Alcaraz Zverev Meddie Djokovic Shelton Average 1st Serve Speed 113 125 119 115 120 Average 2nd Serve Speed 95 97 94 92 103 Average Serve Speed 107 118 111 107 115 Aces 4 15 11 10 119 Double Faults 4 4 7 4 6 Aces to Doubles Ratio 108% 883% 177% 350% 318% The higher first serve efficiency of other favorites compared to Carlos can be explained by their faster 1st serve speed (especially Sascha and Meddie), and much higher number of aces. Zverev comes into his QF against Calos with the most amount of distance covered and longest time on court due to his disputed match against Sinner.

Thanks for all these stats! Just a couple corrections: 1. The aces-to-double-fault ratios are off (4:4 should be 100%, 15:4 should be 375%, 11:7 should be 157%, 10:4 should be 250% and 119:6 should be 1983% [surely Shelton hasn't served 119 aces in his R32+R16+QF matches?!); you mention "Yannick" and "Sinner" - did you mean "Shelton", rather?; 3. If Alcaraz, Medvedev and Djokovic have all won 56% of their R32+R16+QF points, they're tied in that category (Alcaraz did not solely have "the highest % of points won").
