She missed him, but it took awhile for him to get over the out-of-nowhere breakup, but eventually they became friends again, just not romantic. I still wonder what would have happened if they had gotten back together because he is such a gentleman. He would never have broken her heart. I give her points for apologizing to him with that song, which I still listen to often.

They were cute together but Taylor ended it because of the distance they never really got to see each other so Taylor wrote the song saying she was sorry that she didn't travel as much to see him as he did to her very sad song. Please no hate on both Taylor's they are very kind people but relationships end. No ones to blame but their schedules and tours.

Things that inspire the most creativity is love and heartbreaks so obviously she has written songs about experiencing those but this song proves that it's never about bashing the people just about what she went through because of them. If they made her feel loved like Lautner did she would write songs like Back to December and if they did her dirty then well it's breakup songs like i knew you were trouble.
