This song is very sad. RIP to Jeff Lang. He was Taylor's friend who passed away from an overdose (suspected suicide). This is why in the song you can hear the desperation of begging and screaming from Taylor and she tries what she can offer to be his summer sun but sadly he left the world at only 21 years old. The line " Too young to know it gets better". Very sad.

@@madchatter102 I did watch till the end I just want to share my understanding info of the song. for instance, the word choice that shows desperation from begging to screaming. and like it's (suspected suicide) and that's very sad. That's all nothing more.

@@reflejos4676 like we're not saying that every sad song of hers sounds happy, like to those you've written i could add Ronan, epiphany, SYGB, Last Kiss etc, as well as all of her happy sounding songs aren't sad. We're just saying that it happend a lot in her music which might not be as usual with other artists, idk

This is in my top 3 of Red TV - it hits especially different when you’ve lost someone to suicide. Beautiful songwriting as always, she is such a treasure

This song one of my favorite songs from the vault. It hits way close to home for me, some of the lyrics sounded similar to what my cousin tell me, when I'm a bit down or worse.

You totally need to react to renegade by big red machine ft Taylor swift, it’s one of my favorites. Big red machine is a collab project from Aaron dessner and Justin Vernon (bon iver)

From the first time I heard this song I LOVED it...then after realizing what it was about, I felt guilty for loving it, after listening to it over and over, I think it is done in such a way to bring attention to mental illness in an upbeat way....

he song is about Swift's late friend, Jeff Lang, who died at 21. When accepting the Country Songwriter of the Year honor at 2010 BMI awards, Swift dedicated the award to Lang, whose funeral she attended the day earlier. "It's been a really emotional week for me... He was 21, and I used to play my songs for him first. So I would like to thank Jeff Lang," she said."

@0.40, "on the powerful winter ballad..." Me: "Winter is coming!" @ 0 55, You: "This feels pretty happy..." Me: "If you thought this was going to be a happy song, you haven't been paying attention..." Sorry, I'm in a strange mood tonight, and I do love some (paraphrased slightly), Game of Thrones lines! @4.31, This is the very first time I've heard this song, but that was a great line right there, "I pull at every thread, tryna solve the problems in his head". That does sound emotional- the metaphor of pulling on a thread, to me indicates an unraveling, and not in a good way, otherwise there'd be no reason to mention "problems in his head". The question I then ask myself, is how serious is the situation? I haven't heard all of Red either, but aren't most of the songs sad, or sound happy/ boppy, but the subject matter is the opposite. Like "WE are never ever getting back together", or "IKYWTrouble". OK this got kinda hard for me atm. Appreciate your videos so 👏👍💙❤️🐺(supposedly Mr jinx.)

Believe me when I say that for someone who was admitted 4 times for suic*ide watch, “bomb in your head” is very spot on lyric. But I was the one who had to disarm it 🩵
