My “one that got away” I always called him LOML. I almost died when I saw this song. He was the love of my life, and he was the loss of my life. Never loved anyone that much before or since. I still love him with all my heart. He will always be my LOML

Yes!! I've not seen many people talking about it (obviously, cause we got a whole lot of new things/differences), and I think it's really pretty (I didn't really like the other one) I was wondering though... What could be changed about that? Or on her ttpd outfit? She has variations to every era (except for Rep) but how do you change those colors?

She stays with a man for almost 7 years She writes 5 albums mostly inspired by their relationship They write songs together He helps her go through the "darkest" moment of her life, as she called it She writes she would marry him with paper rings She writes she would give him a child When she wins a grammy she talks about how it was fun to write with him to the whole world They share that grammy and he talks about it on tv He is the first person to who she plays all her songs And when they break up she writes that he wasn't the loss of her life but this other guy who she barely dated?...I will defitely never understand this.

I think maybe what's going on is Matty called her the love of his life so much and it was so crazy-making that he'd hurt her the way he did after saying that so she needed to write a song about him saying it. But she makes a point not to call him the love of her life ever, not even to say she thought he was. She likely thought Joe was the Love of Her Life indeed but she's just thinking a fun twist on Matty calling her loml so much is that for HER all she thinks of him as is loss, another l word, and pain. Is he the most painful one? At the time it seemed to feel like it was somehow. I think the traumas compound. After you survived being 19 with John Mayer and a bunch of other guys who hurt her pretty badly she expected her 33 year old self to not get hurt again so it hurt so much more that she could get this deeply wounded. It became an identity crisis too and just was so layered. She knew better but somehow didn't and how could she have ended up here, believing she'd really have babies and marriage with him of all people? I think she's in denial about how much the dynamic with Joe hurt her too. She can't even figure out what to say about it. She was avoiding processing it more than in maybe a small handful of songs and putting all her emotional energy into being done with Joe. And then Matty caught her so off-guard with how much what he did to her could hurt her.

It's Matty. She sings "It was momentary It was unnecessary Should've let it stay buried" and mentions a rekindled flame. She and Matty were rumored to be dating in 2014. She left Joe because he didn't appreciate her, he lost her. Matty left her after she fell madly in love, so she lost him. The song's emotions reflect her grief at the time.
