Considering how many people have received death threats from some of her fans, sometimes for the stupidest reasons, you can't blame people who don't love her. Fellow singer Fiona Apple once confessed in an interview that she was relieved(!) that she wasn't nominated for album of the year at the grammys, because she was scared she would be bullied by swifties (Taylor was nominated in that category), that should give you pause. And i am not saying that's 100% her fault, but she has kind of played into that parasocial aspect of the fandom by inviting fans to her own homes to play them her new albums quite a few times and other stuff like that. And she has sent them occasionally after people she disliked, which resulted in them receiving harassment including threats of violence. I, personally, don't hate her, but i don't love her either. She makes good music though. ❤

It's fascinating to see this interview because she wasn't THAT famous in Europe while she had already sold tons of albums in America. In my home country of Germany, she wasn't a big deal until the Red album, simply because country pop is a niche thing and the biggest names in country music aren't really known here in general.
