I was 18 when she released this and going though my first break up. I could feel the hurt and heartbreak of the original in her voice. I love that this one sounds more like her reminiscing on a lost love. I see it the same way and will always love this version for that.

She's just not only a singer. She's a storyteller.

Her voice sounds so much softer here, you can really hear that she’s not singing from a place of distress and abandonment, but from a place of remembrance and even nostalgic memory. She remembers wanting the guy to remember her, though now she isn’t asking out of desperation, she’s simply wondering “does he remember me?”

I don't know why, but everytime I listen to this version, I want to cry. Her voice is just so beautiful.

How does this feel even more nostalgic than the original? I didn’t even think that was possible..

the start music is different. her voice is more crisp like she's talking about an old movie. the your before the 'wildest dreams' is different. the HAAH is different. the nothing lasts forever is a bit more dragged out. It sounds more raw now which goes well with the album photo (or whatever its called), she's so much older now and she's reflecting on a memory that happened a while back.
