John Part is probably my favourite player, shame he didn't get the full recognition he deserved in the PDC

Being from Oshawa, Ontario Canada doesn't help. Oshawa was a town looked down upon for the lower middle class until the Chinese destroyed our housing market. I played him at the bars in Oshawa even back then he was far too good.

He's a wank. who are you fucking kidding?

I think he does get the credit he deserves, belongs in any all time top 10. His greatest attribute was his mental strength. Bags of bottle and so good on his finishing and doubles to win games. He was a great player. Unlucky to have played in an era that had Phil Taylor.

This was the period as Phil began to hit his prime. I remember Adrian Lewis averaging 111 against Phil and getting smashed 16-9. MVG fans like to use averages to make their point so here's a few to mull over. Phil holds the highest average for the Grand Slam with 114.65, the highest average for the UK Open with 118.66, the highest average for the World Matchplay with 114.99 and the highest average for the European Championship with 118.14 to name a few. Despite the great standard today and all the great players, Phil still holds the majority of highest averages ever recorded, particularly in the long format and finals. I just think a lot of people today are forgetting what a monster Phil was. It's no surprise to me that the biggest admirers of Taylor are fellow sportsmen, like Ronnie O Sullivan. They can appreciate what Phil has done and continued to do well into his fifties was truly astounding! Not taking anything away from MVG but he's not the greatest ever, not yet anyway.

Obviously Taylor is the greatest of all time, he probably still is in 50 years. A few months ago some people actually looked at all the data of MVG and Taylor during their prime years, the conclusion was their level was almost exactly the same. Averages were nearly the same, Phil slightly better double average, mvg scoring a little better, but there was barely anything between them.

Yeah. Anyone who would say a battle of the two in their primes would be lopsided is silly.@@kiekiek

They should do this in two videos. Part one and then part lost.
@THO-BRO20005 жыл бұрын
Nah they should do it with the World final 2003. That I'll make it confusing af. Part one and Part won.
@Muesliman4675 жыл бұрын
People forget how mentally strong Part was to go on and win that 2003 world title. Taylor humiliated him at the worlds in the 2001 final (107 average while Part just won two legs IIRC). And in the 2002 semi final. Even this performance was fantastic in the light of those results.

That 161 from Taylor and that 160 from Part after that were brilliant!

This was the period where Part started to challenge Taylor, and then for 4 years was the dominant player when they played. The frustrating thing was because of the rankings, Part often met and beat Taylor before the final and then lost against weaker players as his motivation seemed to wane once he'd beaten Taylor

What a final.

John Part is the most underrated darts player of all time who doesn’t get the credit he deserves. Top five for sure.
@laserbeak35513 жыл бұрын
He’s not. You have to look at players who were dominating for a certain period like Barney, Bristow, Taylor, MVG, Lowe
@benflannaghan42042 жыл бұрын
@@laserbeak3551 he most definitely is. He won 3 world championships over 15 year period, one BDO and two PDCs. In fact, he and Taylor are the only players in history to have won the world championship at the Lakeside, The Tavern band Ally Pally.

@@benflannaghan4204People will argue that two of those wins were against Bobby George with a broken back, and Kirk Shepherd, but he can only beat what's in front of him. Ultimately, he beat Taylor in one of the world final classics and is definitely top 10 of all time.

Thanks for the uploads, but, please don't stretch a 4:3 picture to 16:9 next time. The wide heads and oval circles just don't look right. Thanks.

Brilliant game, but the semi final between taylor and john lowe was better imo. Lowe frightened the pants off taylor, but the power being the power came thru in the end.
