Do you think it's inappropriate for a guy to have a girl bestfriend or a girl to have a guy bestfriend that the other person in the relationship knows and that friendship is very open/nothing hidden? I ask because, though I am single right now, my bestfriend since high school is a guy. I don't know how I'd feel if my partner were to tell me I shouldn't be/can't be friends with my guy bestfriend since I would be in a relationship. I don't think it's right to cut off my bestfriend especially when everything would be completely open for my partner to see and know about. I would, however, be willing to only hangout with my guy bestfriend in group settings if that would make my partner happier - I think that's a good compromise, yeah?
